Since the mods appear to be letting this thread remain open, I’ll add my two cents as well. To paraphrase what I said elsewhere..
First and foremost, I do not support riots. I do not support looting. And I do not support violence.
But I understand it.
People are quick to speak against violence (when it affects them). People say “violence is never the answer“, but never seem to know what “the answer” actually is. Or they spout off with some unrealistic pie-in-the-sky ideologies like “we all just need to talk and hug it out!!”. Which isn’t incorrect. A lot of our issues with society could make great strides if the people involved would have open communication, understanding, and compromise. This is all true.
But what do you do when the other person isn’t interested in talking? And what do you do when it’s your family that is being most affected by the issue they won’t discuss? And what do you do when the people refusing to talk are the very people allowing (or even causing)your life to be for the worse?
You try to have a discussion.. but they turn their back to you. You tap them on the shoulder, but the walk away. But you hit them over the back of the head with a 2x4 and suddenly you have their undivided attention.
So I agree. Violence is bad. Everyone saying so is correct. But what’s also correct is that no major change in history has occurred without it. And as much as it sucks that we’re living in 2020 and still haven’t figured out how to stop being animals to each other to see the progress we need.. the truth is that nothing would come of this if the violence wasn’t apart of it.
If these were all peaceful protests, it would be a 5min blurb on the evening news placed between the nightly weather and the latest Kardashian drama. But now? Now people are being heard. And discussions are happening. Because they have to. And because the right people are getting nervous.
I only see two possible outcomes to all this. Things will blow over, go back to “normal” in a few days.. and we’ll all be here having this same conversation in a couple years when it all erupts again.
Or this is just the beginning. And things are going to get a lot more scary before they get better. But actual change will happen.
Either way, this issue isn’t going away until we find a permanent solution. That’s a fact.

Editado por cRaZyT101: 6/1/2020 7:32:36 PMI agree with you fully. Remember the NFL kneeling that was mocked and shunned? That was a peaceful protest over police brutality. And now here we are, in the midst of a more violent protest. This was an inevitability, and with the amount of people out of work to exacerbate the issue in regards to violence, it's going to be a long one. Rip to both of us once the mods come down here, though.

It's cute you think there can be a solution aslong as there are atleast two people alive on the planet one of them will discriminate the other.
-
Just cuz you like discriminating people doesn’t mean other people don’t.
Just cuz you like discriminating people doesn’t mean other people don’t.

This is just something people tell themselves to justify their hate.
No op is being realistic, we're not a peaceful race never have been. Once something that upsets the majority happens we always go to negative methods like burning things, destroying or taking things that aren't ours and sometimes even resort to violence aimed at anyone nearby. And what has happened the past few days is direct proof of both the ops and my point. This isn't something we can solve it is just something that is, at best we can try and get along but sooner or later it'll just start over at square one. Another man will attack or harm someone of a different ethnicity, there will be a protest, people will take advantage of it and start vandalizing, looting, setting fires, damaging properties and attacking others. This cycle of hate cannot be stopped entirely, all the enmity and hatred has sunk far too deep.

Sapphire gang gotta stick together.

actually I joined Intelligent. Me and Sapphire never got along. I gotta admit I like your discrimination based on my accounts age though.
-
It was actually based on the group your buddy is in. You both showed up at the same time and are constantly patting eachother on the back and trolling everyone else. Not all old members are trolls from off sites, but a great many of you are.

Actually I appeared quite some time before and made various posts over the years, you're just reaching because me and them agree and sometimes even understand where the other comes from on a point of view on quite a few things. A lot of people call it chemistry or salt and vinegar. Claiming one person is in a group and associating someone who can understand them with that group is just bad effort on your part. Shape up Nil, this look isn't a good for you. I'm willing to bet Op doesn't care how they look so feel free to poke him for a reaction if you want. I'm muting you so I don't see your salt fueled tantrum, be careful not to drop your pacifier.

Racism and discrimination is a human problem, created by humans. It also has a human solution, should we progress far enough.

I’m not nihilistic enough to believe there isn’t one.
