1 RespuestaPeople complain about people all using the same guns because they're so powerful in PvP. In PvE, we started getting the same situation as we did in D1 where people would only let you join if you had XYZ weapon. The same would occur as soon as they made another pinnacle weapon, or they would complain that weapons aren't as good as they used to. There's no in between. no matter what people were unsatisfied. It's not fun but sunsetting kinda has to happen to keep the game fresh.

7 RespuestasIf you read bungies statements to that you already saw the reasons, but the community helped you out as I can see in the comments. You can either like it or don't. I think it's a good move.
-
1 RespuestaBecause we have a lot of really good weapons rite now . Bungie can’t just keep making more and more powerful shit . They can keep giving us powerful shit like they said they were but the powerful shit we have now needs to slowly be out away that’s why
-
1 RespuestaPower creep. Stale metas New weapons are side grades at best
-
There is no good reason.

5 RespuestasThey ran out of ideas for guns. They want to make you grind for reskinned/renamed guns so you don't complain about drought. I mean haven't you figured that out by now? They stopped doing pinnacles because they had no new ideas for them and most new exotics are terrible for the same reason. Exotic armour is especially noticeable with everything being very specific to certain abilities and subclasses. I don't really care either way because I don't grind for rolls, but you try coming up with something that is actually worth getting and has the same potential to be as good, but not significantly better than your current loot.

2 RespuestasSparebenders has been the meta for over a year. And the ONLY reason it's meta now is because Dust Rock Howl was nerfed
-
6 RespuestasLeviathan, eater of worlds, spite of stars, scourge of the past, crown of sorrow, forges, reckoning, menagerie, alters of sorrow, nightmare hunts, escalation protocol, shattered throne, blind well, ascendent challenges, and pit of heresy are going to lose a lot of replay ability. That’s a lot of content just sitting there collecting dust.
-
62 RespuestasBecause people only ever use the exact same weapons. Sunsetting will force them to use other weapons.

"Making games is hard and we'd rather not compete with ourselves"

I'm against sunsetting but here is my 2 cents worth. Give us new interesting weapons with good perks and maybe a reload animation that is different than everything else in the game and we will use them. Otherwise you didn't do good enough. If you are bored with your current loadout.. delete it and use something different, you don't have to wait for Bungie to take them.
self sunset
1 RespuestaI don’t fully agree with sunsetting but I can recognize the arguments for it. Year 2 gave us so many godly weapons for PvP and PvE and we will never see a change unless they are sunset. It took a curated perk for perk perfect shotgun WITH shot package to get people to stop using mindbenders and some people STILL use mindbenders over it. No hand cannon gets better than spare rations. No sniper is better than revoker, or a beloved with quickdraw and snapshot. No pulse rifle is better than blast furnace. No SMG is better than recluse. No GL is better than mountaintop. People will use these weapons FOREVER unless they are forced out of people’s hands. Argue that they can create new perks that make people want to get new weapons but I don’t believe that they can. People want handling on snipers; when you have a sniper with quickdraw and snapshot you never need anything else. People want primaries with range, damage increasing perks, and reload perks; when you have a spare rations with max range, multikill clip and rapid hit you never need anything else ever. You can try out new perks like demolitionist all you want but for 95% of content, Damage and reload always reign far supreme. I have a beloved with quickdraw and demolitionist and it’s fun to use but when I need to preform I’m going to pull out the snapshot quickdraw because that is the end all be all. That’s just how it is.

Editado por WormChi: 6/1/2020 4:15:28 PMWith all these comparisons to MtG they forget some key components. Magic bans problem cards not whole sets. When Yoko came our they banned it not the entire set. They reprint cards later and let you use your old copies in the most recent format: they don’t make you get the new reissued version. They make a promise to their playerbase and keep it for over 20 years. They announced the banned and restricted list and have not gone back on that. Much like the whole, “Your time should be respected.” Which Bungie went belly up on.

4 RespuestasCurrent Loadouts are Stale,Old, Boring.

2 RespuestasMy Luna’s Howl, Recluse, and Threat level wouldn’t have been nerfed. Could’ve remained extremely powerful within annual pass content instead of being in the sad state they are now in current content.
-
2 RespuestasSo why is it that every other mmorpg type game has sunsetting nobody cries about it. But when it's done in Destiny its an issue. Whats wrong with wanting change in the weapons and how people play the game.
-
In Bungies point of view or my own?
-
The earth rotates...Duh!
-
because Bungie said so.
-
4 RespuestasIf we sunset your weapons and armor you have no choice but to play the content we want you to... We know you dumb assess will regrind your stuff each month just to be end game viable enjoy the grind.
-
There isn't a reason ;p
-
Because it's Bungie's vison. /s The /s means sarcasm -- I don't agree with sunsetting -- sunsetting is just an excuse to make us grind for the same shit all over again. I'm done. I'm done and I was a -blam!-ing casual. If you like the idea of weapons you worked for being retired... good on you, enjoy next season and D2Y4.
-
3 RespuestasThere isn't one. I sure someone will droll on about power creep and other nonsense but that is all bullshit
-
3 RespuestasSo people don’t use the same weapons over and over till the end of the game
-
36 RespuestasI’ll give you two. Firstly, if nothing is removed, if I could still use my year 1 fatebringer, no other gun in this game could possibly matter. I as a player, would have no reason to ever use anything else. It wasn’t about balancing, or meta.... if you had a fatebringer, you had your gun, I haven’t met many if any who had it and didn’t feel the same. 2. They are about to ask me for 40 bucks. If they roll out the same old shit, and charge me money without giving me a reason to care, a carrot to chase, I’m not giving them 40 bucks. This happens in every game of this type that runs any amount of time. You probably have a handful of guns you use.... so you want to use them In perpetuity?

Bungie owns the IP and decides what they want to do. That’s the reason.
