Sunsetting: Gambit Prime Gear
While I believe the weapon and gear sunsetting is going to go over horribly I would like to know what you intend to do with Gambit Prime gear. Power matters when it comes to invaders and invading so that gear is going to have to keep getting stronger as we go. Or are you planning on making us farm all those sets over again as well?

5 RespuestasWhile we’re talking about gear. When all my gear is 1000/1001 why are my pinnacle drops all 1000? I don’t play raids because after The Vault Of Glass bungie lost ability to create fun and exciting raids.

2 RespuestasGetsome122 you make some valid points and i agree that eververse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

9 RespuestasIf we’re lucky, they’ll remove Gambit Prime. They said last year that they’d eventually have to remove one of the Gambit playlists.

I already got reckoner after like 50 tier three reckoning runs and countless hours of gambit, I actually enjoy gambit but having to get all that armor would suck.

Of course you will have to grind for it again. Bungie is turning d2 into a treadmill, hamster wheel, or whatever metaphor you like. It's all about getting players online for the longest amount of time with the least effort on their part.

I see three things happening to adress this, well 4 - but i really hope they don't do 4: 1) they eliminate power advantage in gabmit (easiest & probably the best option) 2) they let the armors be part of the transmog system & have their effects apply only in gambit 3) they remove gambit prime 4) they make us regrind new sets of gambit prime armor again

I think the easiest solution is to eliminate light level advantage from Gambit and Gambit Prime completely, it's already not a factor for the adds, just remove it as a factor completely. It's annoying to have to infuse the same Gear sets up each season for a game mode I'll only play a couple times a month, if that.

My feeling, is it's gone. Armor retirement, sort of seals the deal.

This will get as much of a response as the MIDA Multi legendary companion MIDA Mini/Calus Mini getting sunset making the combo worthless got one ...

3 RespuestasI grinded for a set on all three characters Originally. After they brought out armor 2.0 And made it worthless I refused to do it again and I definitely won’t be grinding a 3.0 version.

I totally see these sets fading to oblivion. They were an interesting idea for sure and a great addition to the game. I rarely if ever seen players wearing them or using the benefits of them when in Gambit Prime though

Although you r correct, bungie will not care. Our prime gear gone,puppy gone,mug gone. Its almost as if they did us like this before

10 RespuestasGambit, Crucible, nightfall (the ones that give weapons), Menagerie, Blind Well, Forges, Leviathan raids, SoTP, Reckoning All of those will drop sunsetted gear when season 12 starts. I doubt, highly highly doubt that Bungie thought far enough ahead to provide all of those, plus Banshee and the rest of the vendors with a loot refresh. Oops, we sunsetted all of your stuff... but here, take more sunsetted stuff.

Even though I don't have a major problem with sunsetting in general. Afterall, in Borderlands, there is no infusion at all and you have to re-grind gear every few levels. But, as I have been grinding out the triumphs for the reckoner title, I am aware of the issue. Hopefully they have thought about it and they either let us infuse the gear or get rid of power advantages for invading.

2 RespuestasI was wondering same thing about NightFall exclusives, although none are really worth grinding for sans MindBenders. Do a GMNF and your reward is a weapon that can’t be infused up? What power level would these weapons drop at if their being sunset? Are we getting all new NF loot?

I had this very discussion with a friend of mine. We did wonder what would happen, but I'm pretty convinced that Bungie will just expect everyone to grind out 'updated' gear. It's unlikely we'll like the outcome of what Bungie is doing. It's forcing a very negative and artificial grind to make players use the things they want us to use i.e. the season weapons.

Luke Smith stated that they are getting rid of either OG Gambit or Gambit Prime, I think it will be the former. Going forward in Y4, they will probably make new "Prime" armor sets that drop from Gambit.
