But Antaeus is the "Smooth Brain" option that guarantees insta wins. So there's no possible way to not know how to use them. At least that's what the forums have been screaming for the last few weeks.

If they knew how to use them you would not have made this post. Seeing as if they were shooting you mid slide with any primary they would have killed you before sweet minigun would have brought them to half.

Well lets analyze this: they are sliding at a player using Sweet Business that, I'm guessing, is ramped up. Now unless they have Bastion or a shotgun and are within close range they probably won't win. So while it is a Koala option the real reason why so many hate it is because experienced players will crap all over the other team. Its the equivalent of having a pro using a pre-nerfed Lunas Howl. It was a gnarly weapon but when an elite uses it? Holy cow.

The thing I keep hearing is how broken they are even allowing no brained users to pwn in the crucible. Yet in this entire time I've seen three people use them and all three got smoked from long ranges and even up close by myself and my various fireteams. Then again I play on Xbox, where most of the folks are chill with a few salt lords in the mix.

They are technically broken. Invulnerability just by sliding is still just that. Thats the issue. Not the fact that players wear them while doing other things. Thats what you need to focus on.

If you're worried about the moment of invulnerability, just do what the rest of us do. Stand back and murder the idiots. The only time that I see people with the wards doing well is when people rush into confined places like lemmings. Just bait the aggro butt slide brigade and they're easy kills.

Agreed. However these boots prey on other players easily because the maps are small and cluttered. Making gun fights tricky. However you may have stumbled across a decent counter.
