I'm guessing you're new here. Anyone that has been here since the first destiny knows this is the norm that It is nothing to praise them about at all. Your saying "this is what we've been asking for." I say we shouldn't have to keep asking them to make a better loot system going on the 7th year. They should know how to by now. Why they don't, is way beyond me. Should I tell you how many times what you said has been said in 6 years? This company went the complete opposite as they did since Barrett had no more say at all many times and the cycle starts again. How long this time around before they go the complete opposite??? I agree with you that it is good that they are improving the loot, but how many times do they need to keep going back and forth before people finally catch on that this is nothing but a game to them? In my opinion, this was only to say to the new light, "see, we can improve things". As if we haven't heard that line many times before. Edit: Oh, can you tell me what's coming up that they want to sell? something about an expansion. It's funny how most of the time these changes that "improve things" take place when they want to sell something. Mighty nice of them if you asked me.

  • I agree with you. Bungie should already have all this implemented in the game. After seven years they should know exactly what keeps us happy, what we want, and what’s good for the game. Destiny is almost like a yo-yo, it goes up and down. But hey, good news is good news. I’m happy.

  • I like -how with bungie, all news is ALWAYS out-if-the-blue. Scout rifles are under performing... Exotic drop rates aren't where we'd like... Raid drop rates are under performing, not where we'd like them Forge shaders, forge weapons, forge armour stat rolls... Under-not performing... How is Bungie constantly surprised? We've been telling them for years. They are developing this game right? It is so damn disingenuous!
How is Bungie constantly surprised?
The only thing that comes to mind is, that they think way too high of themselves that they wouldn't know what it's is to be down here in the real world.

  • It's just to play off the new light players, misleading them as they did to the players in the first destiny with a hell of a lot of things. Half-truths is what this company is all about.

  • The sad part is your right. Each time it comes around to the Next Season, out Trots Luke "Throw your Silver At My Screen" Smith and says anything that will get people to give them money. Where's the story or are we just going to be grinding activities for the chance of an RNG loot drop? Remember how bad RNG is in Destiny with things like Anarchy, Thousand Voices or other gear?

I was actually lucky enough to get Anarchy on my first run, and 1k on my fifth. If they want us to throw money at the screen they need actual cosmetics like chroma and glows. For weapons and armor

  • I have the original ones before they sold them, not that they are of any use but it's just a reminder for me 😄 There should be more things in the activities to keep that motivation, its what a lot of players have been wanting.

When I read the new TWAB and saw that Luke used Barrett's line of, "the loot system is not what we wanted" he lost all credibility right there and anything he said after that meant nothing to me. This WoW guy can't even use his own words. Edit: This new loot system is only temporary. We all know they will go right back to doing what they were doing in no time at all.

  • Skull of Dire comes to mind. They buffed it during the go fast update to get people to put down their pitchforks, then nerfed it because it was making it hard to come up with challenging content. They put the carrot out in front, but we'll have to see where the string is tied to. My money is they'll raise the price of the expansion from $49.99 to $69.99 and we'll get about the same amount of content we got this year.

  • That's the concern with me when it comes to content these days. They have been short on what they say they will deliver.

  • If they could give us something between y2 and y3 I would be happy. I like the amount of content we got in y2. The number of raids and other pve activities we could do (menagerie, reckoning, forge). Those were all fun activities that makes farming easy to do. The story telling was less than stellar and the steps you had to go through to unlock those activities were boring. I know that, it was a bit much so I wouldn't expect the same level of content, but maybe 2 raids instead of 4, and something like a menagerie would be enough content. What I like the most about this year is the stories we're getting into. I'd like to see more of the darkness, but the story we got for St 14 was great. The seasonal activities is a waste and very boring to do. So more content like y2 and more story telling like y3, would be fine with me. More sandbox updates to keep the meta changing and stop over buffing stuff to get people excited to play the game. Do not cap weapons, and do not increase vault space. This will force people to decide which weapons will have to be deleted. And if they delete something that becomes the meta due to more frequent sandbox updates, then they'll have something to grind for.

  • Firstly Ive played the game since the first game albeit on a friends console as I did not have the money to invest in one because I was paying for college courses out of pocket, Ive been in D2 since the beta for it launched, So yes i Know how things work around here and yes i know that the game has had its fair share of problems that I've been calling their shit out on since D2 launched, And as for the selling bit in your edit sam if you have been here for a while you would know that the core playlist and their loot are part of the game that is Free to play. IE you don't have to pay for it, If they deliver it and its good then its a win for them and for us, and if they can keep it coming at a yearly rate then im fine with that, I do not need new stuff every season for the core playlists. But I wont complain of they sprinkle new weapon and armor quests here and there

  •
And as for the selling bit in your edit sam if you have been here for a while you would know that the core playlist and their loot are part of the game that is Free to play.
I read everything you said, and it's good that you're aware of things, and you do have a right to your opinion that I will respect that. Just a question, people seem to use this f2p a lot lately. But, why do people not bring up how the game was not f2p at one point and this company has had four years with the means and tools to do what they're going to do. They waited for four years to give what was in the first game. That doesn't add up to me knowing not just this community, but Reddit and other forms of feedback they get were asking for this. In my opinion, using the f2p doesn't justify their actions of what should have been in this game for years ago. They made a hell of a lot of money off this game in the last 4 years, especially with the shop. There was no real reason to let the game go so far and try to play off of what Barret was trying to do before they remov3ed him to sell their season/expansion. The way I'm looking at things is that this was poorly handled as a business.

  • I agree that removing Barrett was not the best move however if you want to make good on a 3 mill investment i would assume they would want their best guy on it, we just got stuck with luke smith who foolishly ran with his own idea instead of sticking with the really rock solid foundation that Barrett built Shadowkeep was good but if it went and built off of what Barrett had laid out previously Hashladun could have been an ACTUAL THREAT it could have been so much BETTER. It was good but it was a far cry from Barrett successes like he is what 4 out of 5 when it comes to how good the expansions he's made so far? To me the only one that disappointed me was SOTD, and it wasn't even that bad imo. but here is my question, do you think that activation would have even let them take things out of the cash shop and put them in the game.

I agree shadow keep was good for what it was. It's just the seasons should have been as good or better. Instead, the rest wasn't and the shop took center front row. Not a smart move at all as far as the player base goes. See, any company can throw out cheep easy content and run and shop these days as we can see a few are starting to do, but not any company can create quality content and make a decent profit without a shop. The ones that can without a shop are the ones, in my opinion, we should be investing in. Such is life though.
