For a story to have a hero, there also has to be a villain to meet them. For many stories, the villain either makes or breaks the plot and flow of the experience, and that is one thing Destiny 2 is SEVERELY lacking right now. Without a compelling villain, we have no reason to be invested in the story. Take the last few seasons for example: who are the villains? Three obscure psions who only lore fanatics remember, and for Season of worthy, no one. Seriously, there is not a single named villain in the current season. The closest thing we have to an antagonist is the red bar psion who sabotaged the almighty. Crota, Oryx, Skolas, Ghaul, Uldren. All the best stories in Destiny have had a villain we can fight and overcome so we can feel like we accomplished something and vanquished the threat. Without a match for our guardian, the stories become hollow and flat.
