The weight system isnt whats against hunters, but rather, its the hunters themselves.
Currently gold medals are one of the best resource farms in the game for prisms as well as other materials. This being the case, hunters and warlocks (mainly hunters due to population) are deleting their titans and farming the initial gold medal.
Because of this you see a huge increase in titans and a decrease in hunters simply because they are deleting their characters and not playing on their hunter. This is also why warlocks are somewhat stable as there is still a large population of players deleting their warlocks (the titans and some hunters)
What we can assume is that both titans and hunters got a nerf to the percentage, likely based on player numbers compared to warlocks who are in the minority in the game. Not having this would simply have made hunters in first place even with the exploits going on atm.

You could just create another hunter instead of a Titan.
-
Most people still want to have 3 different characters. Yes they could delete the class and make a hunter, but for most, its better to just delete and not change the class.
-
But if your constantly deleting your character you can just change it back in the end to whatever class you want. For example , delete hunter after putting all its gear in vault, grind with Titan for medals then revert it back to hunter at end of event.
-
Yes, but most people just dont do that. I honestly cant tell you why.
-
You don't have to select the class you delete to get the free medal
-
? the cheese is deleting a character
-
I took it as you saying hunters are deleting their Titans and that's the biggest reason why they are losing
-
ah, i see. Technically that is the case as most players are spending less time on their mains for this farm, so hunters would see a decrease due to this

I can see that being the case to get the new exotic. It for sure can mess with your time playing a class to an extent this early in the event... But I do think it's odd how Bungie keeps moving the goalposts. Was initially stated that they were weighing turn ins to account for populations, (General populations only) and are now going to be giving double points per win in the last week to allow for a catch up in case one team was really far in the lead. Also they weren't going to mess with things to give it a photo finish, and it's up to the community now, which I'm assuming would be the last week of G.G, not last week's numbers, and they won't be adjusting the weighting system. It's almost like they don't want to say that they might have messed up balancing in the beginning.
