Is there a reason to why players defend the METAs or unbalance

They were the top dog and kind broke for a big chunk of the first 3/4 of the meta. Everyone defended them, because they like them. Now thats it autos are right there in meta with HC’s, they will all -blam!- until HC’s are alone again.

Because the game is fun to play now that Hand Cannons aren't the catch-all best guns in the game. Still the best overall, but they actually have a side-grade to compete with. It's been effectively 5 years of the same thing, tbh.

Player skill is a broad spectrum. Something that is considered OP by a high skill player might not be considered OP to a low skill player and vice versa. Both are correct from their own persepective.

There will always be a meta. I's just what people will use the most. Nerf one thing, another one rises and becomes the new meta. If it's not auto rifles it will be something else and another supposedly broken weapon in the focus of the hate. That there are issues about balancing... Well, that's a different story.

1 RespuestaIt depends. If you're talking about defending something like OEM, recluse and Mountaintop, then it's because it's so easy and fun to poop on people. If it's something like MIDA and Uriel's Gift, it's because they're simple guns that anyone can use. If it's because of auto rifles, it's because we auto rifle lovers have had to slog through six years of hand cannon/scout rifle/pulse rifle "elitists" who say that anyone using an auto rifle is "Noob spray trash" and maybe we want you to experience what it's like being on the receiving end of it for a while. Honestly, Auto's have been "good" twice in the entire franchise. Once at launch of D1 and now in D2. There, venting over. You may proceed about your normal schedule now.

2 RespuestasBecause it's impossible to make a perfectly balanced game unless every player is required to use the exact same character and items. Since there always will be a meta, the main focus should be to make sure the meta shifts fairly often to make sure it isn't boring. 15 month hand cannon metas suck, so there should be a significant balance patch every season or so to change up the meta. We're finally in a not hand cannon meta, therefore it's good. And hopefully the meta will change again in a few months.
