Seasons vs dlc on its face is better as we have things to do every 3 months without having droughts. The elephant in the room however is that these guys are rolling out moreso busy work than a narrative we can follow. This is why people say "it's 10 bucks, curb your expectations". Depending who responds you'll get a variety of answers. The only answer that matters is the one you believe is right for you. I make it simple. If I don't like the direction the game is going then I will just not play it. If I happen to peruse the forums and talk about said issue then I will just explain what the issue is without giving anyone my life story. It's simple clear cut. Play it if you like it or don't if you do not.

  •
Here's the clear cut for you... THE GAME IS A BIG FAT PILE OF STEAMING DOG SHIT! lmao
So in this instance, this person would not play the game. See how it works?

  • You... see... I have already done that. But... you have failed to realise that someone can stop playing and still shit on the game. I still question how Bungie is this inept.

  • I didn't fail to realise anything. You're wasting your time however complaining about a game you no longer play. This paradigm needs to end. It's better for individuals to do things they enjoy more than using their time complaining about something they can't change.

  • I still like Destiny and I want it to get better that is why I continue to criticise the game since Bungie somehow keeps making it worse... and worse... and worse... I do play other games now, to be honest I mostly come onto the forums just to take the piss out of the current shit show Bungie is hosting this week lol.

  • It's probably better to sunset this game and focus on other games

Eh, yeah but I still wanna take the piss tho. But Bungie should sunset Destiny 2 and work on Destiny 3 or even a new game with a new engine and put systems in place that allow them to actually make it a living breathing world, because at the moment Destiny's world is about as alive as a dog that just had its head blown off by a shotgun. - bit grim but I think it fits fine.

  • Having to do things is cool and all but when those things are meaningless, become redundant and are objectively boring it makes the old model seem better. The Forsaken season pass was far better than this.

  • Forsaken was the same model as SK. We had a major expansion with seasons to go with it.

  • Actually you are wrong there. The model was not originally seasons as those were to do with clans. They did change the naming for the new content to "Season of the" but it originally with the AP was marketed as 3 more DLCs that come after Forsaken launched. They changed the model to content that isn't kept in the game but content that they can slap out quick and easy with minimal effort on QoL or actual game design make a quick buck and remove it for... reasons?

  • 🤷🏻‍♂️ all I see is a major expansion and several seasons.

  • They marketed the Annual Pass as 3 DLC's Black Armoury Jokers Wild - SoTD Penumbra - SoO Only around Drifter did they change the name to "Season of the", while BA did have "Season of the Forge" they only used that as references for clans, and really only implemented it as the real names around Drifter. Not to mention if Bungie is using the same model then why are they trying to push out content they supposedly can't since they no longer have the supporting studios? Well, they are pushing out less content but you would think the quality would be the same? Unfortunately those supporting studios pretty much had all the talented people working on the game.

  • But the difference in quality was astounding and we didn’t have the FOMO model.

  • Fomo is nonsense. While yes we can't do things like vex offensive, if it was not fomo, we'd still get bored of it in a month. That only affects people who don't commit themselves a couple hours a week dude. Now if major activities like raids or strikes went away, that's different.

  • The underlying issue is that people get bored of the content too soon, so they decide to remove the content to get rid of that issue. That’s nothing but running away from a recurring issue. Rather than revitalise content they just remove it. That leads to the FOMO prospect because people may miss out on gear they may like, yet dislike the game mode. Therefore they play something boring to get the gear. After a year, I can understand removing content. After a few months where some people may stop playing due to wanting a break from crappy game modes, removing the content is silly.

  • Perhaps the fomo is an experiment on what works? I'm sure this data is used for D3 and hopefully the more immediate seasons to come

  • I disagree. This is just my opinion. Each season seems to have less content that keeps the player's interest. That is not a good thing at all. Giving something to do that is throwaway content is not working compared to an expansion that gave more like Forsaken. Looking over this game if this company updated previous content, these seasons on how they are being created wouldn't need to be a thing. The only reason we have these seasons is because of the new player that brings in that money for this company. $10 throwaway content, the shop and new players buying the expansions? I'd say this company is not doing bad at all other than not trying to put out quality content. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/e762gs/bungie_had_an_estimated_digital_revenue_of/ Actually, they're doing well.

  • Well that’s obvious. People are still allowed to come here and voice their opinions, good or bad, in hopes of steering the game to a place they enjoy

  • I take that a step further though. I don't subscribe to giving bad opinions. I'd rather talk about what the game is lacking and forward that conversation. People who just rant do not provide anything constructive. That serves you no purpose as a reader it serves no purpose for the writer and we get nowhere. Too many times I post on here and it's always me telling the person to take a couple of steps back to breathe and to read what they say and alter what they say. That's why these conversations really don't get anywhere because people worry too much on how they feel rather than saying what needs to be said. of course you don't like the game That's why you're giving constructive feedback on what you can do to improve said thing. Or you in fact like the game and you're giving constructive feedback on why it should remain. Either way I wouldn't sit there and give bad feedback.

  • I agree with you to a point. However you may agree that there's been a lot of constructive, well made criticism and nevertheless Bungie always seems to ignore it to a point where even those who made said criticism start to lose their patient and, sometimes, even them make a negative rant. My point is sometimes there's more to a rant than meets the eye.

  • If you find yourself frustrated, don't write anything down. It serves you no purpose to be angry about a videogame. Life is too short to be worrying about things outside of your control. As for if bungie assesses criticisms? Not 100% sure. Not all criticisms are valid as many many complaints are anecdotal. Weaving through the noise is a daunting task and I don't envy them one bit for it. People need to understand that and just post objectively what's wrong and wait. If you believe they do not fix what is wrong with the game then pack up and move on.

  • Agree with the “ranting” being unhelpful. It’s criticism, and feedback but emotionally biased comments are unhelpful most of the time. Almost all of the time, that is, lol. But wrt “bad feedback, I’m of a different belief than you. Repeated critical feedback, or as those like you call it “bad feedback” is necessary when dealing with Bungie. Without it, they would completely, 💯, unequivocally and unambiguously ignore the random one-off critical feedback posts. Just my perception of the leaders up in Bellevue.

  • Oh don't confuse when I say bad feedback with critical feedback. Bad feedback is subjective and goes nowhere. Critical feedback would be talking about the issues that need to be discussed and coming up with possible solutions to fix set issues
