•
I don’t get why people hate him so much
He has called for nerfs to well of Radiance, auto-reloading, as well as many others (to which Bungie obliged) because his dedicated raid team who plays all the time could one-phase bosses, same as some people who watch his videos (he hates if the average players are able to do what he does). Plus, he fully supports weapon sunsetting because he is bored of being ‘forced’ to always use optimal loadout and it would give him more artificial content to make, by telling players what to use in videos every time weapons expire.

  • Nerfs he’s called for we’re pretty fair. Anyone who plays as much as he does will see the issues the game has clearer then those who play a few hours a week. 8 of the nine branches warlocks had were unusable. Auto reload was just too good, no way you could use anything other then lunas as a warlock on well, literally nothing came remotely close in power so wether datto said its in need of a nerf or not bungie would have done it

Anyway you spin it, that’s a not an improvement; it’s a downgrade. People don’t like downgrades (or scams), hence why over 17 million of them have long left this game.

  • Sure. Let’s go the power creep route. Because that doesn’t result is games going from good to laughably garbage and abandoned

  • Y-you realize... Nerfs are kind of important for a game to work. Without nerfs, people will find the best weapon, and that will be the only thing that gets used until something better comes along. And when better ends up oneshotting a boss, things get stupid. Well of Radiance was too powerful for Bungie to build a challenging encounter with, without disregarding the rules they normally follow. See Reckoning. I don't like weapon retirement, but, to be completely honest, it will force diverse loadouts, rather than Mindbenders/Erentil being permanently top tier. It also solves the classic 'must have ghorn' requirement for LFG that has been around since D1. If Ghorn is weaker, why do I need it? While it does solve the major issue the game faces, where optimacy is valued over variety, it isn't the best solution, but until I see a solution that fixes this issue, without being "Buff everything" then you can shut up and deal with it, because you aren't providing anything constructive. "BUFF EVERYTHING" leads to a Warframe issue, where there is NO challenge, outside of removing items you earn from you. So that is no solution. As much as you might hate nerfs, they are a important part of a game. Trust me, I hate it when a gun I worked hard for is trash because it got a nerf, but, if nerfs didn't exist, the game would be broken, with impossibly hard activities for new players and activities too easy for the people who can run raids. In fact, the nerfs to Recluse, NF/LH, and other pinnacles proves this. A relatively skilled newer player could not compete with a skilled player using those guns in crucible, even in quickplay they're still top tier options. Nerfs are for balancing the game, not destroying it. An average player can do what Datto does, with enough time investment. Datto asking for things to be nerfed isn't bad. Should community feedback be taken more? Yes. Are nerfs bad like everyone thinks they are? No. Does Datto hate it when average players can do exactly what he does? No. Where did you even find that information? No clue.

  • No clue, but I think it's a couple of reasons. One of them being people love to blame someone. For example, Activision

  • To be fair, activision is a pretty monstrous company in the gaming world. At least datto wants the game he loves to be the game of all games.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. It's not enough and can mask and excuse disastrous outcomes. If or perhaps when his good intentions get their way it will mean the end of Destiny 2, depending upon your position on loot retirement and other issues of course.

  • Totally agree with you. The things they get blamed for is a little much
