The current system is not healthy for the game in the long run. 0) If you have a better system (Dont just say leave things as they are.) Then share it here on the forums or reddit so bungie can see it. If you don't which most players complaining do not have then you have two options. 1) Accept things as they will be and CONTINUE TO PLAY OR 2) Accept this as a game that is not for you and MOVE ON.

  • There is no "long run" of this game. The plan is more absolutely abysmal horde seasons with one or 2 more dlc drops focused on as much reskinned content that they can get away with. There is no vision. There is just them milking people with no self control out of money for digital cosmetics.

  • Soo what is the problem then? If they plan on ditching the game wouldnt it be better that the player base leave now rather than later? Your comment doesnt make sense. Luke Smith literally said in the directors cut that they are no longer worried about the game dying. They are focused on where destiny is heading. They sre also working on D3 btw.

Also, if you actually believe a single word of what Luke Smith writes you're not being fair to yourself. They are holding their cards close even though everyone knows they're laying off staff. What they're doing now is essentially burning the bridge when you quit a job or something.

  • At the end of the day this is a BUNGIE GAME and they can do what they want with destiny. We cant hold them accountable for anything. All we can do is express a better solution or stop playing and show them with our time. They do know that implementing a retirement system would drive away veteran players so this won't come as something unexpected to the people and bungie. Better to have some leave now rather than the game dying off completely due to power creep issues and lack of incentive.

you accepted the agreement to play the game and when you bought the game it always says "THINGS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE" if this wasnt the case what can you do to bungie to "make them accountable for their actions besides moving on?"

You are like half stroking Bungie and half being a contrarian to how the community is reacting just for the sake of hearing yourself talk. You are a dime a dozen. Warped from transparent confirmation bias. You know how you've won an argument? The other guy starts using emotes. Muted. Done with ya

  • Is a year not enough to repsect your time investment? What is the point of a loot game if nobody will grind for the new loot? Do i complain that i hate zombie games because zombies look too ugly and demand that they should make them look cute? No i accept the fact that those types of games are not for me and i MOVE ON and play something i actually like. I get it i would have loved for destiny to keep all the weapons viable for endgame but nobody has replied with an actual solution that would work besides Bungie's retirement system that they plan on rolling out. If there is not a better solution than what bungie has presented you really only have two options. Accept it and continue to play or accept this game is not for you and move on. The choice is yours. We cannot continue on the same path which will inevitably lead to the death of destiny. Power creep is an issue and it needs to be adressed now rather than right before the game offically dies out because of it.

  • I used to think and reason like you and i did the “move on” thing from CoD into this game... I fell in love with this game like i did with CoD but the only difference is that they are going to take things away from you, which i spend a lot of time on... the power creep thing is from people who are bored with the game. I get the “looter” part of the game and i use a lot of guns in this game but i want to use stuff as long as i want... my question to you is, is it worth grinding for weapons now and in the future if they will be taken away? How does that solve the problems of players getting bored of doing the same activities for boring long quest in the game? Etc etc, the games problems are way beyond weapon use. It feels like Bungie wants to distract from the real problems, but players think it’s a major change because guns are being re skinned in (example) Bygones 2 with only a different look but exactly the same feel.... I love playing this game but the issues that are now blown up about weapon use is bs and are beyond that to get this game in a better place as it is now, but that’s just my opinion of course...

My weapons are not being taken away. I dont agree with this mentality. My weapons are still there whenever i want to play OUTSIDE OF ENDGAME CONTENT which is most of the content in the game. Again, is a year not enough time to repsect your investment before having to grind for something new? Right now there is no point to grind for new weapons because i already have the best weapons. I am actually excited to grind for weapons that are new that will be good instead of just mediocre now that the reitrement system will be in place. How long do you need to play with the same weapon before your time investment is respected? I am assuming you sont like MMO's or RPG's at all.....will you hate FF7 remake because of this or Cyberpunk 2077?

  • Nope i simply asking people to give a solution to a real problem and nobody has come up with one. i did think of one but idk how it would get implemented. It Functions the exact way FFXIV has its Dungeons play. Level Sync. This will mitigate Power creep entirely. i am not sure why nobody has asked for something like this but this seems to be the next best solution besides Retirement.

Shaxx, drifter, Zavala, Saladin, etc. have all gotten the bungie shaft and no refreshes. Weapon retirement would be a great concept if we had nearly the same amount of loot as we did in d1. D1 had more legendary primary weapons in the game than d2 has primary, special, and power combined. Go to destinytracker if you don’t believe me.

  •
The current system is not healthy for the game in the long run.
Why not? If I decided that I want to use Uriel's Gift in an endgame activity how is that taking away from anyone else's game play experience? How would that be detrimental to the game as a collective whole? Why should weapons that I actually want to use, regardless of how old that they are and that I put the effort in to earn not be able to be used in ANY activity that I choose to participate in? If Bungie wants to make more powerful Legendary gear then that's fine, and the overwhelming majority of players will flock to them, but there are some people who will want to stick with their old stand by's for end game content which should absolutely be their choice, without caps or restrictions. This whole thing seems to stray very far away from the whole concept of "play your way".

Do you understand what power creep is? If bungie creates new weapons that are more powerful than the current meta we get power creep which makes end game content pretty much easy to run through. If they dont make new weapons better than the weapons we currently have what will INCENTIVIZE anyone to grind for them? RPG games and all MMO's have a retirement system in place and destiny should not be any different. You can play the way you want within the rules that destiny has just like in any other rpg or mmo game. You can use your uriels gift ANYWHERE OUTSIDE ENDGAME CONTENT. Do you know what consists of endgame?

  •
So in other words power creep does not exist or is not a problem?
It does not exist in d2. My Y2 blast furnace is just as good as my Y3 sacred providence. The newer contents gear has NOT been getting more powerful, just the same as ever.
Bungie will be perfectly fine making new weapons that are more powerful than the current meta without making the game a breeze to play?
But they dont and havent been making new weapons more powerful then the current meta....
