Fallen- Not really a threat to be honest
Hive- A threat but very minimal on earth it seems
Cabal- Well throwing a ship at us seems like a lazy last stand so they are mostly dismantled
Vex- More concerned with taking other worlds and making them into machines right now, buying us some time
Scorn- Who knows, a one time expansion enemy I guess
Taken/Nightmares- Same as scorn at this point, who knows what is going on with em. Is Savathun coming? Is Oryx Returning? Is Quria coming instead of Savathun? Will we ever address Riven a lil more?
My point is, NOW is the time for the Guardians(bungie) to start making other cities on earth or reinstating Titan, or the Moon, or Mars, or literally anywhere since we are finally making a harsh dent to the enemies.
Edit: Also, Hawthorne and Devrim live outside the city walls, they aren't the safest but I think we have enough competent Guardians(Not the Vanguard clearly) To defend at least a second city. Throw some bubbles up till walls are built and boom a second city is made!
-
The City most definitely does not have enough guardians to defend a second city. A ton of guardians were killed during the Red War, including an ENTIRE order of Titans dedicated soley to defending the Wall. Most, if not all, the planets and moons in the system are still infested with enemies. You are right about the Fallen however, they aren't really a threat anymore since Mithrax and possibly Variks are building Humanity friendly Houses. Everyone knows a war is coming, expanding now is a bad idea.
-
You realize titan is controlled by the hive, the vex don’t have independent thought and the fallen just die, it would be very hard to create a new city. Who would build it?
-
1 RespuestaThere probably are a good amount of large human settlements Throughout the system. Like Sirens watch on titan, the farm, the lighthouse, and probably a handful more
-
1 RespuestaCities aren't formed just because you want to make one. At this point in the timeline, all humans who want to be in the city are in the city. Any future cities beyond this point would likely be formed somewhere like the Farm. A place where people gather and try to survive. After enough time people come to you for safety, and they start performing domestic tasks within the settlement in exchange for protection. Then more come, and roles start filling out. The settlement expands little by little, building are repurposed and rebuilt, and you find yourselves in a sizeable town. Walls are built, torn down and built even taller, extended for more construction, and eventually you have yourself a new city. That's just not possible at this point in time, because any humans who don't have the courage to face the wilds are huddled in the City. The ones outside the city are going to have to have kids to fill out their ranks, because no one's going to bother leaving the City now. If they feel safe in the Traveler's shadow, there's no point in leaving it.

5 Respuestaswell i mean the vex is still a threat, the fallen have been rallying for awhile now, cabal are on their last legs (or thats what drifter said a year ago in gambit), the nightmares are still out there with the pyramid, and the taken are probably rallying as well behind new leadership. also the vanguard right now isn't really unified and making new cities would spread them thin and then government comes into play, like are they independent of the vanguard? how will they rule?

Right now I think building more cities is unsafe. Humanity doesn't have the numbers to not only build a second city in a reasonable amount of time, but to support a second city for however long it stands Not to mention there's the possibility the second city could splinter off and declare independence and blah blah blah

1 RespuestaWhy are we still not fighting the Combat Vex frames??
-
If you look at the base of the wall, outside the city, you can see that they seem to be expanding the city outwards a little bit. And we still have Efrideet helping with a settlement somewhere, I think.

Editado por Vale: 3/5/2020 10:04:55 PMYou expect to much, this ain't breath of the wild this is a shooting game pretending to be an mmo

The same reason there’s not more vault space, the shit engine.

There are smaller settlements, just The Last City is quite literally the last city. It's the biggest and most well defended human nation-state on Earth, the rest are just villages and maybe some small towns here and there. Plus, despite there being not as many hostile species on Earth as half a decade ago (You're welcome, Zavala), There are still huge swaths of land covered in Radiation from the collapse (The Manhattan Nuclear Zone), or Corrupted shards of the traveler that make an environment largely uninhabitable by humans (European Dead Zone). The Aliens may be defeated, but Earth still isn't a super safe place.
-
We only recently started defeating our enemies, but many of them remain in the system and Humanity has taken some serious blows (Twilight Gap, the Great Disaster, and the Red War). With our enemies weakened we have begun working to retake the system, but we are weakened too. After all the death and destruction dealt to the Last City during Twilight Gap and the Red War, humanity can’t even fill the City and many districts remain abandoned. Still the Vanguard makes efforts to retake the system and new settlements are rising now that Earth is safer, but repopulating the solar system from the state we’re in will be no easy task.
-
There are a few other settlements around (followers of Osiris on Mercury, that pacifist colony where Lady Efrideet moved to, The Farm, Vestian Outpost, what's left of the Sunbreakers) Ideally we should start getting ourselves a few other settlements, might be an idea to get a few guardians who can manage them, set down a base, get a power source working, set some defenses and recruit some people to grow it from there.

Only 1 traveller.

You have a deep misunderstanding of the Destiny universe.
-
content is too hard....
-
Its just allocation of resources i guess, they could make new cities but then the defenses of the last city would suffer so i imagine theyre just massive believers in safety in numbers. Also all the enemy races would be absolute nightmare fuel if you werent a guardian, if those creatures were capable of even occassionally defeating your allied immortal guardians it would be pretty scary living outside their protection.
-
Because the idea behind the story was thisnisnth last city. It's an odd thing. But when you finally get to make whatever it is you wanna make, you get to pick and choose what you want in it. Not someone else. Well unless any of these pricks around here there. Then you're -blam!-ed. It's theira and you're just there to make them happy.
-
Content is hard. They had the ability to really build up the story but this franchise is burnt. Playing the last few months of my annual pass and I’m gone.
-
Too much work
-
The Red War killed a lot of our guardians. Also Zavala did say that people are allowed to leave, some people live in the farm. I’m sure others live elsewhere as well.
-
I'm not sure there are enough people left to necessitate more cities...especially since we are still repairing the one we have

Lazy bums welding off in the distance still haven’t fixed a thing.

New colonization might attract new dangers, but the idea has crossed my mind surely there are other hidden communities in the remote parts of the world.

5 RespuestasBecause then they cant use the phrase, "The Last City".
