I'm gonna say something a bit controversial here, I don't care if the Bungie fan boys get me banned again. If Bungie don't rescue Destiny, their next IP Matter will fail badly and I'll tell you why. Destiny brought alot of Bungie fans from the Halo era, alot of loyal players, players who knew what Bungie could do and bought into their "vision" for Destiny. But that loyalty has been severely tested over and over till breaking point, the biggest issue is that Bungie have failed to listen to its wider community repeatedly. Whilst at the same time giving out contradictory statements again and again. So Bungie will have a huge cloud over them with any future titles, especially as they've shown themselves to be completely ignorant of the community en mass. They're hoping Trials will but them some time, get the pvp community back onside, unfortunately that's going to fail, especially on PC with Bungies inability to deal with cheats effectively. Even before trials was announced, it was pointed out that Trials needs to be put behind a pay wall. As for legendary weapons, I guess Bungie doesn't want us to play however we wish, with what weapons we want to use, they bemoan meta eras, yet they're just adding to it.

  • Considering bungees practices it is almost a certainty I wouldn't be investing in their next game. Assholes one day assholes the next day. F that. Go reward some developers that actually are not lazy as hell and buy THIER games.

They’d be as well changing the title of their new IP to Anti-Matter.
😜
I imported a US XBox months before UK release to play Halo. The Halo games led to me having a very high opinion of Bungie as a developer and that helped to drive my interest in Destiny. Destiny and Destiny 2 are my two most played games. However I no longer hold Bungie in high regard. I no longer trust that the decisions they make are in the player’s best interest. Because of this I’m not interested in their new IP. They’ve lost me as what could be termed a loyal customer. I don’t expect this to be important, to matter or to make any difference to anyone.

  • Me n my flatmate at uni had a console each, mine a PS2, his an Xbox, the only reason I'd play anything on his Xbox was Halo, the only reason I went out n bought an xbox then 360 was Halo. Wasn't my favourite game, but I loved playing it. At the end of the day, all those players like yourself n folk that share the same sentiment, myself included, adds up, might only seem a few players here or there but in fact it's very widespread. Destiny had alot of promise, players initially bought into Destiny because of Bungies track record. But that good reputation has gone, that player goodwill that lasted throughout D1 and part of D2 has gone.

    1. They are rescuing the game. 2. This game is not Halo and it never will be. All the Bungie devs who were trying to make Destiny a Halo sequel LEFT last year. 3. Almost ALL of the problems Bungie is trying to FIX are the result of BAD decisions that stemmed from trying to accommodate shooter gamers in defiance of good rpg game design principles, or in trying to turn Destiny into a Halo-style campaign shooter or competitive shooter. 4. Bungie is now letting Destiny start to escape from the shadow of Halo’s legacy and become its own a game...and a better game. I’ve been playing this game for 5000 hours. There hasn’t been a Halo game that kept my attention for more than about 30 minutes. Total.

  • I personally was never a halo fanboy. Halo was fun with friends, but not my favorite game of all time. Destiny has been a love/hate game for me. The game play and raids can be fun, but I HATE all the nerfs to PvE stuff with a fiery passion. The next bungie game would need to get 9 out of 10 reviews for me to be interested. I don't wan to play another 6 out of 10 bungie game.

  • I have already decided long ago that I will never buy a new IP/series from Bungie. They are an inherently dishonest and greed-driven company. Maybe I'll stick around with Destiny for a bit more, because I've definitely fallen in love with the universe and narrative. ...but god damn, I'd have to lie if I said I had never questioned if it was worth it to ever get into the series. The highs are so high and the lows so low, and so frequent lately. It's definitely the game I hate to love the most.

  • The thing with New Light players, there's actually not that many in comparison. Alot of the New Light profiles are those that activated Cross-save on different platforms, then you've got players such as myself that have several PSN accounts for different regions. Bungie have been very quiet about the uptake of A New Light and just how many F2P players there are. I think since Shadowkeep launched, there has been an increase of around 3-400k. Someone will probably correct me on the exact numbers.

  • The player base has basically doubled. This game is seeing franchise record levels of daily engagement in pve..,and very solid pvp numbers despite the current problems in Crucible. It’s why you don’t see anyone pushing the panic button over at Bungie. They knew this was coming when they stopped trying to please everyone, and set out to craft a specific experience for a particular type of player.

  • Ffs mate, you're deluded, the player numbers right now are lower than pre Shadowkeep, actually lower than pre Forsaken, yesterday alone there was a max of 330k, that's not accounting players on multiple characters, profiles and playing both pvp and pve.

Destinytracker has been broken for months. The only reliable player numbers are on Warmind.io. This game is still pulling about a million pve players per day. Compared to historical averages of about 600k this time of year. It is pulling about 500k Crucible players and about 200k Gambit players.

  • Mate there's no use trying to argue with you, you're myopic to everything not pro Bungie. The trackers have been known to be flawed for awhile, they count player running strikes on 3 characters as 3 profiles running strikes. Same with PvP. You're also adding players running strikes, raids, patrols ect together to give yourself an increased number when in fact its the same players running multiple activities, nowhere near 1m.

  • Go. Check. The data. There is no arguing me down because I know what I’m talking about and I follow these numbers weekly. Tracker numbers have bee randomly fluctuating for months and are unreliable. Warmind numbers are consistent, reliable, and show that the player base has basically doubled in size since Shadowkeep. Bungie isn’t reacting like the franchise is in danger....because it isn’t. And last week’s Directors Cut basically said that loudly and clearly to anyone who had any doubts.
