For many reasons.
1) If you’re going to continue PvE concentrated Pinnacle Gear, PvP players will have to do content they don’t want (I know, you have to play, boo hoo) to play what they do want or be at a disadvantage.
2) It creates an atmosphere where superior play can be undermined by a power difference rather than quality of play.
On a similar note, it completely removes reliability. Weapon archetypes have certain associated kill specifications like 150 Hand Cannons (I picked this example because it’s easy) defeating with 2 crit and 1 body while in range. With power, that combo can vary.
3) If SBMM is enabled in Trials (not against it), it only amplifies the above the above problems in 2.
4) The seasonal artifact offers HUGE variability in player level. A player who grinds more has an inherent advantage which is somewhat fair, but it seems like you get a bonus just for maximizing bounty output.
I think Trials is a great activity to have its own gear, experience, and ranking system. Those are what made Trials good. I think you’re adding a huge variable to the mix unnecessarily.
I understand you took Trials away because the sandbox wasn’t in great shape for awhile, but you’ve been improving it slowly and you can literally just install the previous version without the power and it would still be just as popular.
Another option is to disable the artifact for PvP activities.

1 RespuestaThere needs to be a light level cap. The difference is D1 had a light level cap. You couldn’t go past the cap until a new DLC rolled out. With d2 the seasonal artifact has no cap. So someone out there can just farm light level until they are 100 light levels above you. Then they could body shot you with a high impact sniper with no damage buffs in trials. I am fine with light level being a thing as long as there is a cap. They said they wanted trials to be fair and balanced but that rich guy that has no responsibilities or that streamer that it is their job to play can just farm light level. There should be a 10-30 light level range and cap each season.

9 RespuestasJust imagine being 1 away from flawless and get put against 3 level 999 streamers 😂

3 RespuestasTrials should be a pvp endgame event and absolutely should be power level enabled. We have enough PvP events to play at a "even" levels. PvP has very little to work towards, trials will now give something to work towards. Please don't dumb down trials before it even starts (again)
-
100% agree with you. Power Level & Artifact in Trials is a HUGE MISTAKE !!!
-
1 RespuestaThis coming from someone who didn’t play trials, i think it should be endgame activity. Which means you need to be the appropriate light level. Right now, what do pvp players have for endgame?? Nothing, and im saying this as mostly a pve player.
-
3 RespuestasThe only reason power level could be a bad idea is due to the artifact. I am all for removing infinite power when it comes to pvp
-
28 Respuestas1. PvE players have slogged through PvP for years for gear and they didn't want to. The response from PvP players? "PvP isn't that bad. Just deal with it" 2. PvP players constantly call for nerfs, this affects playstyles in PvE. The response "quit crying". A couple bonus points: 3. PvE players have complained about having power level taken away at the end of the season. The response "get over it and just grind it out. A few light levels don't matter". So, no. The artifact needs to stay. If you're as good as you think you are "a few light levels won't matter. Just grind some more. Jump into some raids, PvE isn't that bad, just deal with it. And if you don't like those suggestions, quit crying".

ALL I WANT TO SAY IS THEY DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT US! ALL I WANT TO SAY IS THEY DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT US!

Light level needs to exist, but they have to do it right. There needs to be a cap. After 10 levels above the other player, no more multiplier. Or get rid of it entirely and put a light cap on people.

Editado por CleverInvective: 2/26/2020 10:32:17 PMPower enabled Trials = instant ignore. I can't believe PvP endgame will be less balanced than quickplay. Oh the irony.

I agree with most of it but sbmm has no place in a competitive game mode with a ladder system
-
2 RespuestasNo SBMM in trials confirmed by Luke Smith. It’ll start off connection-based and then based on your wins. Also, light level has always been a thing in trials. Maybe just disable the artifact light level.
-
6 RespuestasDon't wanna be a dick cause I agree artifact power is terrible in trials, but 150s can't 2 crit 1 body , only thorn on low res guardians can. Its 3 crit for all 150s and 140s.

The problem is bungie is allowing it to be free content. Which means hackers galore on PC. Then everyone will migrate back to console and the ddosing will begin.

Bad move by bungo

Yep, there’s already enough disparity between classes, classes and certain load outs, LL just adds to that. Why would they do this? I might skip this season...
