Take a break!
One night of your favorite meal is a treat.
Eating it three meals a day, every day, is torture.
Some of you have just played too much, and just need some time away from it.

How long of a break do we take before destiny is "good" again? I havent played since even before shadowkeep and this season still looks boring to me
-
That varies according to the individual. For some of you that break is going to be permanent.
-
I feel like im missing an extremely fun time this season with sundial i mean it looks like something destiny has never seen before
-
IMO ...the actual Sundial feels like a section of game modes like Raid Y1, or PoE - D1 style ...(nothing identical from D1, but it has a similar feel) Lots of madness, lots to shoot, challenging opponents, (there’s locked weaponry/subclass & jeopardy (especially on Heroic), light mechanics (plates/orbs/charges) - Dawn is better than Undying....but it’s gonna need far more quality the next season (maybe a change up from 6 person events) Its a shame the rewards aren’t brill - & the lead up to it (linking obelisks was so glitchy) ...the Saint-14 (2 end missions were OK, some humour with the Devil Ruin script, but the travelling around locations planting beacons was just busywork) & to leave him in the Tower as a vendor with 4 rubbish bounties is an insult
-
Just picture if instead of ttk we got 3 different versions of Prison of elders in d1 thats what it looks like to me.

Like I said. Loot games are for people who have a low need for novelty. There is no Well of Infinite Creativity that Bungie can draw from to keep reinventing this five year old game. If you don’t like Sundial you’re basically at war with the game’s fundamentals Identity: Kill adds, kill majors, satisfy a mechanic, kill boss. Collect loot. Rinse and repeat. If you don’t find that play Loop satisfying. Or no longer find it satisfying. Then its probably time for a break, or time for a different game.
-
The issue is that while other games would acknowledge their loop is getting old this game doubles down on the boring tactics. And lets not pretend thats all destiny is. Their raids have never been simple and for the most part thats what kept players like me interested. Id say what will kill this game is the bungie can do no wrong fan boys that dont want anything to change. When people complain about this game its because they like it and want it to be better. Plenty of good change has come from the forums toxicity.

Editado por TheArtist: 2/9/2020 3:12:14 PMNo! Just no. Stop it. This is what exactly what I’m talking about. Blaming Bungie for what is your own unwillingness to take responsibility for your relationship to the game. Baseball is a game that is 150+ years old and isn’t constantly reinventing itself. Every time you watch it or play it, it is 9 players per side. Three outs per inning. Nine innings per game. Four balls or three strikes per at bat. If you hit a ball in the air and the defense catches it in the air, you’re out. It it hits the ground and you beat the ball to the base it’s a hit. THAT IS THE GAME. The play loop that is Sundial IS DESTINY. ...and at the end of the day it you either like it, or you don’t. It isn’t Baseball’s responsibility to turn itself into a new game just because you’re bored or because you personally don’t like it. If you’re bored go watch or play basketball, football, golf or tennis. If you don’t like it? same. Go watch or play something else. But this game is not going to reinvent itself five years into the franchise, and asking it to do so is unreasonable. That is not the same as asking Bungie to fix broken mechanics or to REFINE what is already there. Bungie has made it clear that they can only turn out ONE good raid per calendar year, and demanding that they do more than that at this time is a waste of time and energy. Because they don’t have the resources to do it. And they aren’t going to waste the limited resources they have on content played by 10% of the player base, when they lost a THIRD of the game’s workforce last year.

There it is the destiny fanboy excuse. Listen you can defend bad practices all you want but the bottom line is the game is dying because of bungies unwillingness to change whats needed. Me personally im waiting for the drastic change the game needs. Expecting everyone to be happy playing court of oryx v5 and just be happy with it is why you see the game declining. If they can only put out one good raid per year destiny would be better off getting rid of seasons and re adopting their old model of 2 expasions that include story and strikes and a raid lair every year. I promise you i may not speak for everyone but the numbers show that people hate these seasons and are tired of the "thats all we can do excuse". Remember when bungie hyped up their release from Activision and all of you thought it would be better? Has the game become any less of a cash grab? Has there been any meaningful expansions? Wasnt everything wrong with bungie Activisions fault? Answer me this whats one improvement that offsets getting real content that bungie has put out since their split.

whoa... that ISN"T a fan boy excuse. It sounds more like you are a fanboy defending what Bungie used to be. It amazes me the childishness that abound in the downvotes of Kellygreen2's responses. Why are earth is he being downvoted? His points are VALID and based ENTIRELY on the reality of what Bungie has said and done. His analogy about baseball is SPOT ON. Bungie has said, this is the new plan, here's a roadmap. This is what we plan on doing, and there will be a transition to get to that. The PLAN IS: removable content battlepass type releases with that removeable content 2 successive drops have had a horde mode type focus, with the content not carrying over. The formula IS there. The FOMO aspect is a personal choice, or inability to separate ones self from the game. There IS plenty to do even if it's boring as shit and essentially serves no purpose, but there is loot at the end of each aspect of the new game. Whether or not the individual player likes it or finds it compelling, or a complete waste of their time, is IN FACT THEIR OWN issue. Some of you people need to get a grip on reality. Football and Basketball have tweaked their rules for fan enjoyment... that's their choice. Baseball and Hockey haven't (ok with the exception of getting goalie pads under control, cause that was just stupid how big they were getting). There is NO rule saying that Bungie has to make a game that everyone loves. But they do have to make a game people will buy. Many people who are ok with looter shooters will find this game just fine and continue to purchase it that doesn't mean everyone will or has to,and it certainly doesnt mean that Bungie needs to please everyone. It IS about one's relationship with the game and setting boundaries. And those of you who are downvoting Kellygreen2 cause he's putting out a view that you or others don't agree with does make you guys look like the fanboys. Destiny 2 is NOT the game D1 was or even D2y1 was. and that's ok, maybe not for everyone, but that's the REALITY. The sooner those of you who don't like the direction it's going accept that the sooner you'll either (1) adjust your thinking and start to enjoy the game for what it is, or (2) find a game you like better

You’re a tool.. esp if you want to agree with #1 fanboy Kellygreen. You’re not going to get a whole lot of support here buddy. Take your clown show elsewhere 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
-
what are you 12? i praise the game where praise is due i criticize where it's needed i agree with those who make logical comments whether they are praise or criticism. I've agreed with Kelly in the past and disagreed with him as well as i'm not a blind sycophant, as you seem to be You not bothering to see my post history and just jump on the bash Kellygreen bandwagon speaks to you being the clown show, not me good luck with that and yeah before you go off, you're not likely to get much of a reaction out of me. so rail away. it'll just prove my point.
-
Nah i dont need to go off on your clown ass. Im good. Keep enjoying the shit game basic boy.
-
LOL thank you that made me chuckle
-
Thats a long post just to kiss up to kelly. I skimmed through it so sorry if this doesnt seem like well thought out message im just putting in as much effort as bungie does into the game. Anyways we've heard your feedback and passed it along keep it coming we really do care about your feedback

Editado por GSXR RACER: 2/9/2020 8:51:26 PMnice try. kissing up? no support of logically argued points, yes but you keep convincing yourself you know what's up Edit: by the way, I actually agree with you that the game is in a poor state and i'm not a big fan of where it's at. but i keep playing cause that's MY choice. so maybe stop making so many assumptions too

Mmm, I can eat my favorite meal every day of the week..
-
That individual “need for novelty”. Some have a greater need for it than others. You and I have a relatively low need for it. I can happily eat the same thing for breakfast for months, and enjoy a quiet day on the couch reading a book. Others get bored, restless and frustrated if they eat the same thing two days in a row, and aren’t out looking for new experiences with their free time. These differences are probably hard wired into us at birth. THIS is why I’m always telling people to stop blaming Bungie for everything and pay attention to what they are feeling, and to take control over their own relationship to the game. Loot games are generally appealing to people like me who have a low need for novelty and are comfortable grinding FAMILIAR content. Pvp oriented games generally attract those with much higher needs for novelty. As going up against a creative human opponent keeps the experience fresher. While low need for novelty player will get bored with this because there isn’t much depth to explore. At the end of the day, all Bungie can do it craft an EXPERIENCE. But we all will relate to that experience differently, and take differing levels of satisfaction from it. But if you sit back and blame Bungie for what you feel, instead of seeing it as guidance for what type of experience you need/want. You are signing up to play the victim role in your own life. Even low need for novelty people though have a need for change. There are times when I grow tired of playing this game. But instead of raging at Bungie about how much they suck and there’s nothing to do..... ....I just do what I did last night and played some Diablo 3 instead. Which is why I never tell anyone they have to like this game, or have to play it. But I will hold them accountable for IGNORING their body and mind telling them they need to stop playing it and play something different. Ther ignoring that urge is not Bungie’s fault. That’s on the individual gamer to take care of themselves properly and well.

-
I agree cpompletely but my man....that was a lot of words to tell someone to take care and be responsible for yourself and do some other shit. Nice post.
-
I disagree. I eat chimichangas. Breakfast lunch and dinner. Except on weekends.
-
then by definition you change it up to appease your need for novelty...... you kind of proved his point
-
No I change it up because I'm not at work on weekends. So I have time to make/buy real food lol
-
I'm at the point where I have played D2 way too much. Started Borderlands 3 a few weeks ago and I'm enjoying the shit out of it. I'll be back at some point in the future. The gun play is still by far the best over any FPS. Imo!
