I cannot declare the season pass a failure yet, as the likely best season is about to occur. We are potentially getting both Trials and a (Raid or Dungeon) releasing next season. But, I'm going say I don't think the Season pass model is the way Destiny should carry over into Destiny 3.
1. It prevents players from returning to the game later with lots of content to catch up on, by making the majority of season content time based.
2. It encourages developers to create throw away content like Vex Offensive which is a waste of resources and does nothing to help deepen the long term experience of the game.
3. It stretches out content to a trickle, forcing players to log in regularly, but not giving them much to do once they log in.
I propose a Two DLC Model: with Bungie developers split into two main teams, each given a year to create a content drop, once in the Fall and once in the Spring. During the off seasons, Bungie can continue to have their free events like dawning, as well as a rank up pass, but all payed for content will be consolidated into the $30, rise of iron sized expansions.
1. This prevents the year long content droughts of D1.
2. This gives players the big content drops they love to sink their teeth into for a few weeks, and the freedom to step away when they want.
3. Gives Developers breathing room between content releases to learn from mistakes of the previous, and time to not rush content, focusing on quality over quantity.
4. DLCs can still function as story acts, with Part 1 coming in the fall, and Part 2 in the Spring, this allows Bungie to craft long form story telling, with more room to breath in a flushed out campaign arc.
Content Release Example:
Fall:
New Destination
New Campaign Part 1
New Dungeon
New Raid
New Exotic Quests
New Strikes, New PvP maps
New Lore
Season Pass Ranks
PvP and Strike Drop Update
Winter
Season Pass Ranks
Dawning
(Potential free Bad Juju type mission) lead into Spring DLC
Spring:
Zone Expansion to New Destination added
New World Activity in Expanded Area
New Campaign Part 2
New Raid
New Exotic Quests
New Strike, New Gambit Map
New Lore
Season Pass Ranks
Gambit and World Drop Update
Summer
Season Pass Ranks
Solstice
(Potential free Whisper type Mission) lead into Fall DLC
Other Things i hope Developers focus resources on instead of constantly designing new throw away activities:
Update old popular activities like Menagerie and Escalation with new drops, new encounters, new
bosses etc.
Update an old Destination each year to show passage of time and create cool new secrets and
Experiences to Explore and Discover. If they want to create a living world, Stop with the cabal mining drills and show an abandoned Cabal Base in the EDZ.

My biggest problem with Destiny 2 right now is that Bungie doesn't seem to understand why people aren't playing the game. People aren't quitting because there isn't enough content, people are quitting because the content is extremely repetitive, you know the old saying that too much of a good thing is bad? That's the "trap" that Bungie seems to have fallen into, Horde Modes can be fun but Bungie seems to only release Horde Modes, which get repetitive very quickly. The Season Rank is an extremely boring grind and doesn't help either.

1 RespuestaAll that content will not keep those complaining about content now entertained for 6 months lol. Personally I’d rather not wait 6 months for new content, regardless of size.
