When I first joined destiny back in the very beginning. I was overwhelmed and in awe of the destinations and love the story that has developed. But I can't shrug of the fact that there are so many stories that have been left behind, and had no continuation. I understand that to build a world, that feels real, that story's should all branch of into there own story's. It's just to much at the moment and to much just left behind for way to long.
Now in the new destiny the story has been moved into the store. Fair enough I can still physically read it, but it's not in the game in the ways of old.
Here's an example. Uldren's story continued in an eververse Ship lore entry.
In the old destiny you would have found a scannable or dead ghost in the game world instead. Giving you the feeling of being apart of the story, instead of reading a book.
There is so much going on with the eververse store right now that it is near impossible for you to play and collect all the items unless you top up your silver.
I would actually prefer that the season pass be sold as an add on to include all eververse items for that season, and seriously decrease the amount of loot coming out of the store. Instead of 7 ships, 8 sparrows 10 ghost shells. Just make one of each per season. That would be efficient. Items would feel more special, lore would be spoken between guardians as they would have more chance to read it, if the ship was kept in the inventory for longer then a day.
Sell the season pass a little higher if you have to but include everything. This constant rapid flow of goods through eververse proves that you can create this stuff, now all you have to do is share it across all the vendors each season. Give the vendors missions/pursuits each season to earn said loot.
Eververse has rotating loot every week. Whereas the in-game vendors sell the same Bounty's week in week out.
I miss playing destiny a lot, I wasn't a casual I have sunk over 4000 hours into the game, last few months hardly touched it.
Edit: to those saying D1 had the same or no story, I would say that in D1 'you had to be there' for the lore. For example loading Into a crucible map for the first time gave you some grimoire. Killing X captains gave you grimoire. In D2 'you have to be rich' . Not many people are going to read the lore card of an item they cannot acquite
Edit: to those stating you can read the lore online. You could read the lore online in D1 infact it was the only way.
But none of it was locked behind a paywall every piece had a (triumph) connected to em. In D1 you would never dream about buying a dead ghost from eververse for some lore. It has become the normal now.
