I don't remember who said this, but there's a difference between overpowered and overused. Mindbenders isn't necessarily overpowered (it's just -blam!-ing boring, both to play against and to use (and if you use it you are the problem)) it's just that literally everyone uses the thing. Spare Rations has the best potential perks with a 150 RPM hand cannon, so people are obviously going to use only that. Cause I mean, that's the only gun. That's it, it's the only primary, what else is there to use? The -blam!- is a pulse rifle? Then, Mindbenders is a... Something frame? I don't know, the good one. I don't use shotguns, they're brainless to the point that it's not even fun. They're the good frame and they can roll quickdraw, therefore it's the best, and it's easy to farm. People are obviously going to pare the best hand cannon with the best shotgun, and because nothing better has been made, they'll never stop using it. Personally I'd love to see fine tuning, wherein something like spare rations and Mindbenders specifically got cut down slightly, and other guns got brought up slightly, but crucible patches only come once a year at this point.

  • Yeah, it’s just a good shotgun and if it’s really overpowered then nerf all shotguns in that archetype, or remove their ability to get quickdraw.

  • I believe that in the case of something like Mindbenders, given that it's not overpowered, it should be a nerf-buff situation. Nerf that frame of shotgun, give some love to other CQC options to even out the playing field.

Severely. All HC’s got neutered with damage falloff And Shotguns all have a range cap. No matter the perks. Enough with the GD Nerfs. You ppl are still crying even after they’ve already been Nerfed....

  • Oh I'm sorry do you see anything else get used except on maybe Widow's court? No, you don't. Maybe every 6 matched you'll see a Bygones, that's about it. Hand cannons got hit hard, but they're still the only thing anyone uses, shotguns are still brainless and far too easy to use.

I’m even seeing a lot of Sidearms too. It’s not just all HC’s. And You want HC diversity? Give me a reason to Use 140’s. They fire slower and require the same amount of HS as 150’s without a range boost now. Same with 110’s. You’re automatically putting yourself at a disadvantage just using them over 150’s. Make 140’s 2 Crit one Body. Add meter or two to the range. Give me a reason to use them. As for Spare Rations... it’s used so much because it has the best base stats of any HC in the Game not named LH/NF. Lightweight frame 13 round Mag 100 recoil direction 90 AA. What’s not to love? It’s amazingly good. Maybe buff other HC’s up to its level. Then and only then will you see diversity in HC archetypes.

  • I don't care about hand cannons. All I've seen for 6 years has been hand cannons. I just want something different. I agree that there should be more reason to use 140s, but let's not allow people to hit more bodyshots and lower the skill gap further.

There should be a trade off. 6 years my azz. Suros was a big thing in D1 as was Vex Mythoclast As was Red Death As was the Messenger As was Mida As was Doctrine of Passing As was Hawksaw As was the CLEVER Dragon As was Antiope D As was Mida again As was Last Hope As was Uriel’s As was Graviton As was Vwing

  • Yes, we've gone through periods where hand cannons weren't the top dog, but they've never been out of the top 3. Something usurps them, then they take back the number one spot after a month or two.

It’s also very easy to close the gap in this game because of those very same reasons.
