Matchmaking for raids is one of the worst things you could do. Bungie even tried to do a form of matchmaking and it failed miserably.

That's why I said they need to make new raids with entirely different design principles, I would never want matchmaking with current raid formats
-
So strikes? Or like a dungeon? Or like one of those horde modes?
-
Bungie isn’t limited to only creating stuff we’ve seen before, they can design new things, they have already created plenty of unique raid encounters where an individuals skill matters, gorgon maze, Crota phase 1, sparrow section in Sotp and many more

Editado por Smough: 1/19/2020 8:50:05 PMYes, they are. They are a lazy company and I highly doubt they’ll be doing anything new anytime soon. Also since when did individual skill not matter in raid encounters? Just because one person can’t do something by himself doesn’t mean that the skill of that individual person doesn’t matter. I’ve spent 6 hours on a few encounters only to switch groups and do those encounters in less than 2 hours. Both were random groups. How do you explain this if individual skill apparently doesn’t matter anymore?
-
If you see them as such a lazy company why are you defending their product so hard. And also it's far more complicated than saying this team was bad so they had no skill and this team was good so they were all skillful. It's not a binary issue there is a huge range of factors that contribute to one team completely a raid and another not such as experience, effort, game skill, knowlege, and communication are just some of those
-
You mean dungeons?
That's why I said they need to make new raids with entirely different design principles, I would never want matchmaking with current raid formats
They wouldn’t be raids then. Why would they make raids worse?
-
They would still be raids they just would not be the same thing exactly as what we have now and it would be an activity open to more players
They would still be raids they just would not be the same thing exactly as what we have now and it would be an activity open to more players
They wouldn’t be raids. Raids are supposed to be difficult and are supposed to have mechanics.
-
I still want mechanics and challenge but they need to shift more of the challenge to being dependent on player skill and builds not having a top notch group of raiding buddies

Ok explain the skill needed in this, take the new garden of salvation phase 3 as an example. 3 players literally just follow a boss around and say inner or outer. Not exactly a highly difficult action. But if even one person messes up in this phase or can't communicate well the team likely will wipe regardless of how good the other players are. Take this in comparison with a High level nightmare were a highly skilled player with a great build can carry even a 980 that’s more of what I want

You succeed as a team or you fail as a team.
-
Yes that is the whole point of raids now I’m not arguing that. It’s is in my opinion that they should alter the degree to which that is the focus for future raids, that’s what I would like to see

Improving things also improves variety as well, things don’t have to stay the same

-
No I want something with the length of raids with more challenging enemies and a more even split of team focus where the communication leads to quicker completion but individuals can still carry a team to victory without the fear of constant wipes
