Sooooo, it looks like the new hotness this week is to complain about the "cliffhangers" or dangling plot threads that have gone "unfinished". Apparently Bungie are terrible story tellers because they haven't "finished" stories without moving onto new ones. It's wild just how baseless this complaint is for two reasons.
First, the story structure in Destiny is clearly, clearly a number of intertwining threads that are unfolding over years. Bungie will focus on one character or story for a bit then jump to something else and then come back. Super clear examples are they focusing on Calus in D2Y1 and then focusing on other stuff and then back to Calus in the Season of Opulence. Similarly, they introduced some Osiris/Saint XIV in Curse or Osiris and then didn't come back to them for two years. Remember that you actually got the perfect paradox during Curse and at that time it's lore tab actually foretold the mission we would eventually do this season. If you have patience this long, drawn out story telling is pretty cool.
Second, what this means is that the "cliffhangers" or "unfinished" stories aren't unfinished. They're just on pause while other threads get explored. This is an incredibly common type of storytelling in serialized mediums like comics or tv. Remember there would be a Jack episode of Lost but then it would focus on other characters and then later on or maybe even the next season there'd be another Jack episode? Destiny has the same sort of vibe.
Third, THIS IS A MUCH BETTER KIND OF STORY TELLING. One of the most popular complaints seems to be that the Uldren story has been left "unfinished". But what does that mean? He was all Prince of the Awoken and sort of a dick. Then he disappeared during the Taken War. Then he showed up and was all possessed and stuff. Then he died. Now he's a guardian. What would it mean to "finish" his story at this point? Tell all the Uldren stories that will ever be told and then we never see him again? I guess that would finish it but that would be terrible. Is that what you want? All the Uldren stories, followed by all the Eris stories and then all the Drifter stories. How would that even work?
Just be patient. Let the plot threads come and go. It's gonna be great.

At first, people were excited to see how these stories would continue or end, but it has reached the point that we want SOME closure. What happened to the Queen? The Exo Stranger? Uldren? (No. Dumping him into a lore tab doesn't count.) The Drifter's plan? What about the Dreaming City? Calus' plans for his future? The Pyramid? Sometimes, there's a point where we just want to see a story end. For an example, Bungie's been beating the dead horse that is Oryx and his sisters for almost HALF A DECADE. They can write pretty (in text at least,) but at this point I'm starting to believe their secretly a bunch of hacks. Either that, or their material's awful. Destiny's story now has all the pacing and excitement of a Netflix original series.
