Raids basically turned into more of a marketing campaign with Worlds First than anything else. Worlds First is the only time you will see Destiny crack the top 100 in Twitch streaming. I wish they would move away from raids or scale them way back to 3 player activities. Ive done almost all the raids at least once and a few that I liked multiple times for quests and certain weapons. All in all, they are meh. It’s basically sitting with 5 other people trying to make small talk pretending you’re having a good time just to get loot or finish a quest. Unless you truly have 5 real friends playing Destiny, which 99% of us don’t, raids kinda suck. I wish they’d take that time and energy and put it towards something else. Less than 5% of people have ever done more than 1 raid. That’s a lot of time to waste for such a small amount of people, but I think the exposure of Worlds First for the game — because hundreds of thousands of people watch — is what raids are now built for. It’s Bungie hoping that people will stumble across them, see the big commotion, and then get sucked into the game before they know all of what you need to even participate in them or other aspects of the game.

  • Raids are great when they are accessible to everyone. I’m not saying they should be cakewalks but they should prioritize teamwork rather than the joke they are know. My friends convinced me to get d2. All of them did every raid in d1. Not one of them still plays and they absolutely hate the d2 raids. Even when you know the strat unless you’re running meta and and with very good people you have no shot. Also I came from wow and lotro so I actually love complex and I’m difficult raids but bungies aren’t fun and when they are as ridiculous as they are know it’s no wonder people don’t even try. Also the community is garbage around raiding. Nobody joins or let’s you join unless you’ve already beaten it. Which I kind of understand but at the same time why aren’t those people doin them in clans if they want the smoothest raid as possible.

They actually prioritize teamwork more than ever. You can’t really have one person sit there shooting enemies, everyone has to carry their own. Joining a clan helps immensely with getting raids done. Many clans will help teach and sherpa new players in raids. I do agree though, some players just don’t care to help, but that’s their own choice with their own time.

  • So what exactly is your point then? Try to be ultra specific, since apparently my reply had no correlation to your post...(which it did but whatever) lol.

  • No it didn’t. There isn’t more teamwork. There is more individual roles that have to be filled. Nothing to do with teamwork. The d2 raids are li tree rally designed to force several players to do different things rather than working as a cohesive unit. Which is why nobody does them, only clans do them regularly, and lfg groups rarely ever complete them. It also puts the group against each other as some handle their jobs only to have others struggle with theirs. This is creates chaos and breeds anger. Rather than working as a group to do the correct thing to live the fight forward. Which is why solo hero moments were still possible in d1. The entirety of my post was to show the differences in raiding between d1 and d2. Which went way over your head apparently. And I only need to be super clear because you missed the entire point. That’s your shortcoming not mine. To bad you weren’t here to insult me to my face.

  • You’re 100% right. They should either make raids significantly better or not even bother with them.

  •
Less than 5% of people have ever done more than 1 raid.
Sources please. Don't try and use trophies or achievemnts, those numbers are pushed down because accoring to those only 70% of players have hit max level.

  • Omg my guy... Raids are the only interesting and unique thing about destiny. If it wasnt for raids... this game would be a complete dumpster fire. Raiding is literally the only thing that saves this game imo. For all you solo players out there... do you understand that this is NOT a game for you? Destiny is and always has been a multiplayer game. If you cannot be bothered to find some friends or join a clan and actually associate with people and talk to people.. then there are thousands of other single player games out there for you to enjoy your time with. This is NOT your game. Go play God of War or Red dead or Outer world or hell even Witcher 3. Stop suggesting that raids be removed bc YOU cant be bothered by them. OR... grow a pair.. suck up your pride.. and find a lfg group to run the raids with. A big part of playing destiny is to play with the friends you made on here and enjoy eachothers time while also communicating and cooperating with eachother to accomplish a difficult task. And dont even start with the BS “destiny 2 raids are mechanic heavy and suck”. GTFO with that opinion.. D2 raids are a thousand times easier than D1 raids bc the mechanics are weak comparably and you can almost 1 phase every single boss in D2 provided everyone has the right loadouts.

  •
D2 raids are a thousand times easier than D1 raids
Thousand times? Uh huh... I've led VoG HM raids many times. I haven't completed a single checkpoint in the Leviathan raid because of the 6-man mechanics, never watched any of the videos either. If it's 1000 times easier, take me. I've got a spare 30 minutes.

  • I could easily take you threw that raid.. almost blindfolded. I can also easily gather 5 other friends that i made in the 5 years of raiding on destiny and blitz threw it. Problem is I wont log in til they drop some MEANINGFUL content. Im not contributing to this garbage grinding xp crap they call content. But if your on xbox.. send me a PM. If your a cool person that can get along with others.. Ill set you up with a bunch of good guys in my clan that can take you threw it. My clan has NO problem helping others.. EVEN noobs bc we can 4-5 man most of the raids. We do it for the pleasure and enjoyment of helping other people out. Lord knows we dont do it for the loot anymore bc its mostly garbage these days.

  • ....A cancer that bungie marketed a “lone wolf” experience towards. I love it when people act like this game isn’t supposed to be for solo players when bungie repeatedly markets towards solo players as well as others.

  • Your wrong buddy.. get a clue and do your research before you come on these forums with absent minded opinions. This game was never meant to be played solo... and the ONLY people that think otherwise are.... solo players. 🤦‍♂️

  • How about you do YOUR research, you didn’t even have to go that far. https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Destiny/NewLight First thing under the section “play your own way”. To quote it: “Discover Destiny’s rich world and characters through cinematic Story missions, unique Quests, and exploring destinations”. Bungie even says it themselves, the only people saying it isn’t for solo players are the bungie apologists.

  • My mans ... did you even read my post? I have done the majority of the raids and many of them multiple times. I am in a full, active clan. I find people on Reddit from time to time when I need to do quests or other activities. I have no issues grouping up with people when I need to. All of that has NOTHING to do with the fact that raids aren't that great. Did you read the numbers? Less than 10% of the ENTIRE Destiny population have ever completed a raid. Less than 5% have done MORE than ONE raid. How the -blam!- can the raiding community "save" the game when it's that -blam!-ing small? It can't. It doesn't. Most other raiders don't even care for the Destiny 2 raids. You seem like you have a lot of pent up aggression and you're starting to pull things out of nowhere that I didn't even say. I never said D2 raids weren't easy. And I never said anything about the mechanics. If you could calm down for a hot minute instead of flailing your arms around like a chicken with it's head cut off, you might be able to digest my post better and make a more reasonable and articulate response addressing what I am actually talking about. What you've responded with here is just more echo chamber bullshit you here in every other post. Stop projecting, brother. I don't have an anxiety disorder and I don't struggle with FOMO. That doesn't mean the raids still don't suck, aren't rally worth doing, and all those resources could better serve being allocated to other parts of the game. Damn.

  • I do have pent up aggression for morons that want raids to be easier, solo’ed, or MM to be involved. The part of the community that thinks like this is toxic AF to this game. If you cant be bothered to find friends and form a raid group... then find a new game to play or stop b*tching about it on the forums you bunch of entitled snowflakes. Its that simple. This is NOT a solo game. And idiots that want it to be are ruining this game by making it causal and boring AF. I wasnt necessarily pointing at you guy.. but you were the moron with the idiotic suggestion. Just saying. Have a coke n a smile.

  • I hear what you say BW. Our clan in D1 would spend weeks....yes weeks doing a raid. It might take four or five hours to get past the first boss, then we'd all meet up the following day to attempt round 2, and so on. Our aim was to use checkpoints and try to get to the final boss before reset!! At present it's a streamers race to get 1st completion, and after that, everyone's expected to speed run a raid in 45 minutes

  • This. I was just thinking this last night. Did people ever really think raids were "fun" or do they remember cracking jokes with their clan and the exhilaration of the loot drop and they just remember it fondly, because I have never had "fun" in a raid. I watched a video of Mr. Fruit and his gang doing crown of sorrows on youtube the other day and omg was that boring! Who would do that more than once? Then when you factor in this dreadful community that demands that you kwtd in every post its no wonder almost no one raids.

  • I think the biggest problem is that Bungcheez has forced so many repetitive patrols, bounties, and lost sectors on the game that the majority have burned out.

  • I enjoy Last Wish. That's one raid I could do over n over again and enjoy it. I also liked WotM. I did that thing 100+ times in D1 because it was fun. I think we need more EoW boss fights, as well.
