I like the idea of Champions and needing certain mods to kill them effectively, however I thought I was able to take whatever weapon I liked using in my load outs. Now if I want to play end game content I'm being forced to use certain weapon types and certain subclasses depending on what champions are in the map. The mods to beat these champions are only available on certain weapon types which makes zero sense to me. I love using hand cannons, auto-rifles, sub-machine guns and such, I do not like using scout rifles, pulse rifles and bows, now I'm not saying they are better or worse, this is just my personal load out preference. Which doesn't mean a damn thing because i can't use anti-barrier mods on any of them so I am screwed if a shielded champion pops his head in. Not to mention the mods needed for these Champions you can't even put on exotics, making them useless as well. I just don't get why players are being forced into certain load outs if they don't like using those weapons, am I to understand that if I can't force myself to like how these specific weapons feel that I'm not allowed to play end game content? All this does is making me not want to play the game. Makes me feel like I'm in a preschool and Bungie is labeling the things I'm not allowed to use because they don't want me to use them even though I like that thing better than another. I guess what I'm asking is are your players playing for their entertainment, or yours? Let players use what they want, make the mods for all weapon types, and exotics. This is ridiculous.

1 RespuestaNext season should have the anti champion mods affixed to weapon archetypes. Example. Lightweight/rapid fire frame =anti barrier Adaptive= overload. Agressive =anti untoppable. And that will change every season... Every weapon has those archetypes.

9 RespuestasSo much for them “letting us play how we want”
-
I have no problem with how it is handled now for the most part. The exception is that it is complete and utter bs that we can't use these mods on exotics.
-
It changes each season. Last season was different weapons and next season will be too. It is not a big deal especially cause it's only like 2 or 3 activities
-
They could basically just rename the 980 NF to Divinanagi.

11 RespuestasWow. Reading your post and a lot of the comments is just so embarrassing. You kids are so entitled these days that you riot over the small things. I hope you all are just trolling because it’s so sad if you actually believe what you’re saying.

1 RespuestaEditado por TJ_Dot: 1/2/2020 5:20:35 PMI want more advanced AI that makes them dangerous, not guys with a buff or unique shield that restricts weapons and fails to make engagements any more engaging than if it were a tank. The champion system is trashy. They're glorified "tanks". Not champions of any sort. Just get rid of it.

1 RespuestaYeah I’m not even touching the ordeal nightfalls. By the time I turn the game on, fly around picking up all the bounties and specking my character, 25 minutes pass. It’s a total hassle. And I can’t use a load out that I want because can’t put mods on exotics. I played sundial like three times and that doesn’t really do anything for me. So now I figured I would take this season to complete a few catalyst that I have laying around.

6 RespuestasYes another stone on the pillar of failure. I hate scout rifles they are as useless as a boat made out of bricks. They are weak and a easy counter with not alot of action. The scope needs an extension greater than pulse rifle and damage needs to be severly buffed. 2 shot kill not 4 shots get the job done. Bows not much point unless you go with wishender.

1 RespuestaAnd bungie had the nerve to say "play the way you want to play" in the vidoc. What a bunch of hypocrites.
-
The game really isn't good right now. Lots of time to get things done in life.
-
I think we should have to unlock the mods for each weapon type. Want anti-barrier on a shotgun? Complete a shotgun focused quest to earn the mod. I would even be fine if this reset each season with the quest to re-earn varying across seasons.
-
1 RespuestaI find it odd that they gave us mods for a Power weapon type (linear fusion rifles) and continue to provide mods for auto rifles, which are still underperforming in PvE.

5 RespuestasEconomy of choice is a standard for any good game, even more so for a MMO. That would be like saying let any magic user use any weapon or spell in D&D. This is common place and not an issue.
-
I agree with him. Why restrict what we can use? Other than to prolong content by making encounters more of a struggle with certain weapons. I wonder what dev was like "Lets NOT give artifact mods to exotics because exotics are "TOO GOOD"".
-
IDK, trying to look at D2 via the eyes of a new users. I am trying to get my daughter into the game, she typically is not into FPS but the more complex Bungie makes it, the more it looks live EVE Online. I played that game for a while, left a year, came back and I could not even figure out how to get my ship out of dock. I said screw it and deleted the game.

2 RespuestasThat’s a fair point actually. Never thought about it till this post. It does seem oddly restrictive.

Editado por Lull9: 1/2/2020 5:55:47 AMActually it's all Izanagi/Divinity, all the time, for all activities with champions, if you're really doing it 'right.' I don't know how they're going to move away from this meta. Oh, wait... they will be nerfed into the ground eventually.
-
This season antibarier weapons is a nightmare. Scouts are trash Bows are crap Two worst weapon types in the whole game.
-
Champion mods should be able to be equipped on all primaries, each exotic should get a unique champion mod. Instead, activities should get modifiers. Example, nightfall might have enhanced scout rifle damage against champions, that way were are pushed towards using different weapons, but not forced.
-
Editado por Vork: 1/2/2020 2:15:04 AMLono talks about this in one of his talks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-d3fvpMjeGk Talk summary 1. Open up champion mods to all primaries 2. Add champion mod slot to all primary exotics 3. Add weekly modifiers to buff specific weapon types against champions to promote loadout changes 4. Start adding Secondary weapon champion mods 5. Power weapons don't need champion mods
-
Yeah. I was hoping they'd let you keep the mods you unlocked after the season ends but I guess not. This season they have made a general anti barrier round mod, but I think that only applies to bows, pluses and scouts. It doesn't help you this season but its a step in the right direction.
-
24 RespuestasYou don’t need the mods to take down champions. There are a variety of ways to do so.
-
Totally agree 😎👍

Editado por Ion, Disciple of Melvin: 1/1/2020 7:23:43 PMBungie did this to shake up the meta, but I do wish that champion mods would work on all weapons.

1 RespuestaI see a lot of people complaining about this but it was the same last season, yet no one complained back then. You couldn't put any mod on any weapon in season of undying too. You could only put them on certain weapons. You couldn't put overload or anti-barrier mod on hand cannons. It's the same thing this time with difference like hand cannons removed from equation entirely and scout rifles come in. Do I like using pulse or scout rifles for pve grind? No. But there are other ways. 2 izanagis shot back to back, champions wont get a chance to put up a barrier. There's overload nades mod too. I do agree that being able to put mods on only certain weapons or armors shouldn't be a thing. But then again, if we didn't like the system, we should have spoken about it when they first released it. Not a season later.
