The more and more i play destiny 2 i realize all of the differencs from the first game. Like how every single mission in the first game was replayable adding to the taken king dlc which was the most amazing thing. Then d2 came out and it was ok at first and then it came out with forsaken i loved the story in that and would play it only once though. They made all the questg boring and useless to the actual story. And this leaves me with final statement. The shortest story ever created in the destiny franchise. Shadowkeep. It was cool at first and the final mission made it actually interesting. The first time i saw this mission i thougt it was going to be continued later in future updates only to be disappointed. Then adter a very recent update the gamed just suddenly lost a ton of frames and makes my game almost unplayable at some points. So, yes i do think they were better off sticking with activision. Its sad but true.

Lol Bungo hates curse of Osiris so much they decided to dust the old coot off for another season that’s some petty salt if I’ve ever seen it 🤣

1 RespuestaThe vanilla destiny 1 story was utter garbage And Activision literally made that happen. They told the writers to delete the original story they’d been working on for years and make a new one.

It was cool at first and the final mission made it actually interesting.[/quote] Screw that, that last mission REALLY pissed me off. $35 for a "campaign" with no boss. Ridiculous! The entire Shadowkeep experience pissed me off. A bunch of lazy reskins, a total poor effort. Worst campaign I've ever bought on any franchise. bUt iTs aN eVeRgRoWiNg sToRy tHaT wIlL... oh shut up! Destiny stories don't get wrapped up anymore. This was garbage plain and simple.

It's still too early to make that judgement because Bungie had more than five years of story with Activison and so far less than two after the split. Give them time and at be fair even when you don't feel like it; it'll help form a more concise conclusion.

15 RespuestasUldren sov killed at the end of forsaken and later resurrected as a gauardian That was the last we heard about him Until..... They continued his story in a lore tab on a dawning ship No big deal of course, just go read the lore tab. Except when the event is over and that ship is gone then anybody who didn’t read the tab will have no clue what the next page in his journey was At this point you could argue they’re locking an integral part of the story behind FOMO Sorry fan boys I’ll be quiet now😳

3 RespuestasPersonally I like how the story develops rn. Just saying.

Those pimp put these lazy, incompetent, greedy -blam!- to hard work. As they deserve. F**k EverStore+nickel&diming.
-
They're still reusing parts of Joe Staten's original story. The music is pretty lackluster too....Marty's was better by leagues. Most of the music in D2 is just a rehash of the same song.

I'm just happy they killed cayde

4 RespuestasThe story has always been a weak point of Destiny

Editado por Ion, Disciple of Melvin: 12/28/2019 9:54:57 PMComparing D1 to D2 vanilla- D1 had a better feeling/tone — pro: dark and mysterious, fear of the unknown — con: lack of story (or structure) D2 had a story (present to say the least) — pro: actually told something — con: less of a serious tone, not as dark Despite this, both of the games are very good at raising some in game questions, or raising an aspect of the lore to drag you into it. The series has always had a problem of EXECUTING BOTH ASPECTS.

5 Respuestasguess you thought activision wrote their stories, they did not.

Except Bungie is better without Activision lmfao. Shadowkeep’s campaign was nonlinear for awhile. That means it wasn’t just straight story missions. Just like with Red War. A LOT of it was non linear for more replay ability. Not everything bad to relate to us taking back the city and it was fantastic. And warmind was the shortest campaign btw. -
6 RespuestasEditado por Xero: 12/27/2019 6:21:39 PMSo what you actually mean is... The creative team/folks had at Bungie, before the split/in the beginning was better compared to now. Publishers don't make stories, they give money/resources to the people to make the stories/content. Then get shares of the money made from the content. They work on releasing it and showing it to us, but I doubt publishers actually sit down and make the content like a developer does. You're mixing up your words a bit here.

9 RespuestasHow was the story in shadowkeep? I didn't play it.

The story has always been garbage for this franchise since D1.
-
7 RespuestasJust look what they’re doing with CoD and you know enough... in todays society we just always have to point fingers and it’s getting more silly every day...

Not sure what a publisher had to do with the story...... also I disagree, it finally seems like they are pushing the storyline now. I felt like before the story was disjointed as -blam!-. Like you could tell they worked on several dlcs at the same time because they literally had nothinnnng to do with each other. Plus dlcs like COO, warmind, HOW, DB and even ROI did nothing to actually drive the main story of destiny forward. Shadow keep we actually speak with the darkness, we actually go in a pyramid ship. It’s frankly the most shit we’ve ACTUALLY done with the darkness in all of destiny lol. I hope the seasons start to drive that plot a little more as well. I can only take so much of “ the darkness is coming” like damn.... those pyramid ships slow AF!!!! They been coming for 5 years now! I fly to a moon of Jupiter and back errry day son! GIT ON MY LEVEL DARKNESS!!! Wow that derailed quickly. In short: I disagree. Okay love ya thanks!

I liked it when we played the story. Now we go complete bounties and read about it.

4 Respuestas<The shortest story was TDB, at least SK pretended to have more than three story missions.>

Im actually going to defend Shadowkeep's story. The idea of it was for set-up for the future, the DLC was also created in the span of a few months rather than a year + that TTK got. Less time was able to be focused on it o of course it would be less content. The frames part, I dunno, at least on PC I don't see any changes, but consoles thats on you guys. The PS4/Xbox are severely underpowered hardware especially on release they should have been better optimized. There is a reason these systems aren't sticking around for 10+ years like the PS3/Xbox 360.

2 RespuestasActivision had nothing to do with the story. Bungie did lose their story lead last year. That might have something to do with it. Story so far has been fine to me personally. I don’t think the evolving world aspect is matching up to their vision, but I’m not mad about it.

34 RespuestasEditado por Lore Oradon: 12/27/2019 4:58:28 AMYou forget Activision will not release unless they say ok. The Original story was done and ready, but Activision said no and had bungie scrap the whole project and start over. Then before D2 came out bungie released the Original story, and nearly 90% of the community voted for the Original concept. That's when the hate of Activision begun. Forsaken was amazing, loved that story. Then Activision wanted to see how profitable it could be. It wasn't. They broke from Bungie, and after the separation player numbers double, and in one day Destiny 2 got 1,000,000+ players at once. Is Bungie/ Destiny perfect? No of course not, but the story is amazing, even the Original writer's said they don't even know the ending or what the Darkness really is. Alot of people are saying this season sucks so did the last, but the way I see it, it's D2 the way it should have been. And this is the first year that Bungie is operating just them now. Edit- look up the Original story Activision scraped, it's a good one.

4 RespuestasIts crazy how they were forced to keep up with a deadline of decently good amount of dlc content with each update. Then once bungie splits there new vision is to drip feed content to the extreme since they dont wanna put the effort into dishing out a well worth dlc drop. Battle pass anyone?
