[spoiler]You are confusing the infinite forest (simulation) with the sundial from osiris (actual not perfected time machine). But since Saint-14 got lost INSIDE the simulation aka the infinite forest, you have to chase his footsteps to get to him, but when you reach him you'll see that's not actually the forest, he's in mercury, in the past, (at least this 1st try).[/spoiler]

Osiris keeps saying that his time machine run simulations. Plus explain Vex time travel too because I’m also confuse. How does time travel equal ascendent realm. Vex travel threw time and space but Crota used the realm and somehow Lorde the vex in?

A time machine does calculations, a simulation does calculations, i see no problem there, they are both vex machines that osiris learned to use on his favor. Ascendant realm doesn't have anything to do with time travel, it's a pocket/alternate dimension in our own world. The vex can time travel but i can't say much more about this because it really isn't implied anywhere how they do this or for what reasons, just some vague assumptions.

I would think a time machine would need also do calculations. You wouldn’t want to travel through time randomly like Doctor Who some times does with his TARDIS. So way the infinite Forrest so important? Could the dangerous alternate version of cable and Panoptes escape from the Forrest?

Cuz if the vex succeed in the simulation, they might try to do it for real knowing that they will succeed, and that would give them the upper hand.

So that’s why Osiris is on mercury and inside the Infinite Forest. But didn’t the vex succeeded when creating Panoptes? In every outcome except in our timeline, didn’t they win. It seems the cabal got the short end of the stick because they never when. Not even in a simulated universe.

Well osiris can defend our timeline, he can't do that with every one there is (that would be the job of other osirises and other people), he mentions that some timelines are way worse than ours, and also you can read that from the lore of the new weps, bits and pieces.

Wouldn’t disappear once we are out of the Infinite Forest?

For the shotgun we did the quest steps to make it stay "permanent" in our world/timeline. Osiris mentions this when you are finishing the quest.
