I love getting into a staring match with Osiris and reading 3 paragraphs instead of at least some voiceover work to go with each step. Some more voiceover work and some cutscenes for the missions of each season would make the game feel way less empty and hollow than it does now.
-
I prefer the ingame dialogue we got over the cutsnenes any day. However they could be done better. I could make better ones in blender at home.
-
As someone who plays a RPGs, point and clicks and all kinds of crap, not having voice over work for every piece of dialogue in a game doesn't bug me in the slightest. But you can only pay an actor for so much time. Guess y'all better buy more silver if you want more voice work.
-
2 RespuestasInstead of paying for expensive voice actors..... Have some Bungie employees use a voice changing synthesizer and get to talking. More cutscenes, and less deaf mute Guardians!
-
3 RespuestasWhy does Osiris stand there with his arms crossed like a mute back street boy ?
-
agree that 'the Dawn' is a pretty low value content package just a bunch of new grinds with very little new reward to see if we will buy a bunch of micros while we're playing
-
I think the weirdest part was going back to pick up perfect paradox reward. I mean he never said a word, no direction and was kind if confusing as to what do I need to do next?
-
There is no way that is the original osiris I'm almost certain it's a nolan north redo
-
3 RespuestasYeah that was strange. Especially when he already recorded some lines. Why not do all of it? I guess they pay their voice actors by each letter? 😂
-
Why put in work when they can do the very least work possible and their fanboys will still deep throat them like olivia munn will anyone with connections in hollywood
-
It's not a big deal, but I find having Cayde still in the old strikes and missions is a little bit of a downer. And it feels a little weird that I'm kind of stepping back in time to do a strike for currently relevant rewards. I dunno, I just feel like a big title game should take the timeline into consideration more.
-
Maybe everyone in here -blam!- should volunteer their services to Bungie for the next season so they can keep the price at $10 and not pay for voice acting.
-
$10 dlc, not sure what you expect. Voice actors are surprisingly expensive
-
8 RespuestasWell Destiny has the worst in-game lore of all such games in which lore is a thing. And it has always been like that but with Bungie having less resources, it's getting worse.
-
This. Cheap season investment... on the planet of the cheapest DLC. Not good by Bungie to start with such a poor impression. Bad product management.
-
2 RespuestasWas I the only one that noticed that the opening Cutscene for Dawn was just a montage of old Trailer Footage?
-
The voiceover and cutscenes were a waste of time to begin with. I wish they would stop trying entirely, they are never good or worth it.
-
Right?! Bungie had an estimated Digital Revenue of $300 million in 2019, according to SuperData. Can't spring for a little voice over work?
-
Villains need the voices, the memorable scenes are the ones like Xol and his monologue, or Oryx when we first see him with Ecthar, or yanno any scene with Ghaul/Consul?? The villains are characters that we are fighting against, yes they do not last long but if they have at least one quality that makes em memorable like our anti hero Calus may have some gluttony or greed problems. Or prideful wrath of Ghaul and Oryx. Maybe have it so Taken and Vex do not talk to help give them character inadverdantly by giving the villains something. Hashladuun could have been a great villain that we would know in a year yet in a few months she is just another strike VS Fikrul the Fanatic(and all barons) who I actually recall because he is a character
-
2 RespuestasGuess I am the only one who would rather have the game preform better than bogged down with more extremely forgettable cutscenes...
-
1 RespuestaI agree the lack of Voice over was VERY obvious. Guess we will have to have BYF make us more videos so we can actually hear some real talent. Its pretty sad when watching his videos is waaaaayyyy more entertaining than playing the game. If you havnt watched his Destiny lore series i suggest you go watch it. He is an actual good story teller.

Bungie couldn’t afford to keep Nathan fillion (cayde) as he was given a tv series (the rookie, actually very good) and killed the speaker cos couldn’t afford Bill whatshisface and also Nolan to do ghost as dinklebot was wanting more money. That’s there excuses for those 3 characters but beyond that is just lazy and cheap trying to give us as little as possible and cutting out what they see as not important. Unfortunately these were little things that made up the larger feeling that we had towards d1 and why we liked it. It’s a pattern bungie have fallen into and they are out of touch with the community.
-
1 RespuestaIt's so blatantly noticable. Just big walls of text. Bungie, are you impoverished? Or are you just extremely cheap, lack any sort of passion, and just generally don't care?
-
The cutscenes and voiceover came from the Activision studios and they are no longer helping Bungie. The irony is that a lot of Destiny 2s best content came from Activision’s Skylanders studios, not Bungie.
-
1 RespuestaYeah, I get it’s more expensive obviously but it would make the game feel more involved in the minor seasons
-
5 RespuestasIt's bizzare since they recoded dialogue for some of the conversations but not the rest, doesn't really make sense to me.
-
2 RespuestasI noticed that tonight. Usually, one of the characters will say something in regards to what you just did in a mission. Osiris just stares at you. It took me a minute to figure out I was actually supposed to read the dialogue instead of listen to it. Why...? It can’t be that hard to record a few lines...I mean considering the lack of any other content, you’d think they’d at least try to make dealing with Osiris a bit more...meaningful. My take on this season: Osiris content is cursed lol pun intended.
