I remember when Destiny had heart.

The year... 20xx, and people were so excited to do a little dance in a FPS, that they did a little dance in an FPS. We all wore the same armor, with the same shaders, nobody knew what Gjallarhorn was, nor did we care. We stayed up late to get new bounties, and we deleted our characters so we could do the Raid more than once a week and get rewards. We, the players of the game, enjoyed our stay, and the only thing we had to complain about, was that we didn't have enough Vanguard Marks to get 2 guns. It really was a broken game back then. The balance was off, for people that were only interested in PVP. The raids were actually enjoyable, and something that was casual enough that finding a handful of people that knew how to shoot guns, while the PRO did the hard stuff. Then at some point, tokens and ORBS became the mainstream way to accomplish tasks. Collect 1,000 of these tokens, so that you can continue playing. Go find 6 orbs and then bring them back here. No, wait, these orbs are for throwing at stuff... definitely don't bring them over here. I get it, inspiration is a difficult thing to find, while being badgered by someone that has a job specifically to badger you. Hire actual writers. Not people that THINK that their FANFIC is pretty good. Find people that KNOW how the story will end, and work BACKWARDS towards the timeline that currently exists. Osiris was CANON... Saint-14 was CANON... Efrideet was CANON... when you have CANON you do NOT change the story to bring the CANON into the timeline. Hey, We have this Time Machine that we stole from the VEX... which at no point ever actually existed in the story, but now it is CANON. Good job guys, you now cannot divert from this notion. If you can basically restore the entire game, backwards, to remove any and all progress, at your whim, you ruin any motivation to continue the struggle. YOU CANNOT BECOME LEGEND, WHEN ANYONE CAN SIMPLY REWIND TIME.

  • I dont know if my previous comment posted.. This damn app has been buggy all day .. But when did we steal a time machine from the vex? Osiris built the sundial with the help of the drifter .. The psion flayers used the oxa machine.. First time we heard of it (or at least for me) was the end of the insight terminus strike.. If I'm missing something here lmk .. I love the lore of this game but my name is not byf so I could be off with things

Out of the gigantic number of employees that Bungie has, there seems to be nobody that actually reels them all in, and explains to them that this is "NOT YOUR TIME TO SHINE". It seems to be everyone doing their own thing, trying to one up Dave, because he had something cool to work on last week, and you want to have something cool to work on. These people all seem to have lost that LOVE. You make Video Games for a living. At what point did people working there forget this. You don't have to work the horrible jobs that your customers do. You don't have to deal with ever meeting your customers. You don't have to sit down with HR and explain why you have a half naked manga statue on your desk... if you do end up in HR about the statue, its because Sally wants one and you refused to give her the item number from WISH. You have a good paying career. You work in really cool environment, with a truly diverse crowd. At some point, some Donkey in the ranks, decided that the customer base is dumb. They don't even realize that we are simply giving them old stuff, and they are happy about it... No we are not dumb, we are hopeful. The only reason many people still sign in, is in hopes that the game will be slightly better every time we sign in. It reminds me of a lesson I learned in second grade. My teacher asked me if I would rather earn $20 a day, or if I would rather earn a penny, and have yesterday's amount doubled as today's payment. I looked at her, and told her I want the penny, while everyone else in the class wanted the $20. I see this lesson coming forth in the decisions that Bungie are making, and it is disappointing. Of course everyone wants a $20 bill. Until they realize on day 18, that the guy that took the penny, now makes more than all of them combined, and they will never catch up. Your community is excited by promises, and takes the LARGE offering upfront, but then you never have to make an increase in quality. The penny kids in my second grade class, of which I was the only one, would have made a billion dollars, before I was 8 years old... $20 a day for 180 school days, is only $3600. Assuming that I am the only person that wants the penny, is ridiculous. Any 9 year old kid knows that the Penny is the better choice... because in 2nd grade they took the $20 choice. Look at your audience Bungie... we all know about this scenario... only some people don't see the similarity.
