At this point there are three posible outcomes for what is the next release in the fall. 1) another small dlc and more half baked seasonal junk. ( most likely out come ) 2) a forsaken/ taken king expansion plus seasonal content. (Less likely) 3) they have been working on d3 for the last two years and thats why we havent heard much as far as a roadmap Because the beta would overlap on the last season. Plus that would have some sort of time frame for a release, and as we saw with shallowkeep they couldnt make that. ( doubtful but not out of the relm of posible ) Realistically destiny need a whole new engine becuase it has been reported that they are still using a modified verson of the holo forge for making content. Add in that there is a new gen of consoles slated for next December i cant see them usuing the same engine for d3. Plus if you havent noticed that d2 is buggy AF right now. Also that they are cutting seasonal content to save space. Conclusion is that another small dlc 2020, and d3 would be fall 2021.
