I completely agree with this post. A solo player should be able to at least attempt to acquire pinnacle gear via matchmaking. All three man activities, at all difficulty levels, should have matchmaking. Period. In no way would this affect those players who choose to group up prior to entering activities. Why is there even an argument?

  • So why should I even participate in group activiites then? I can just get those items playing casually solo. That is the argument that destroys your argument. Group content is almost always more difficult because of teamwork requirements.

Leave it to Bungie, they would put it in and force you into matchmaking if you don't have a full fireteam. I absolutely HATE forced matchmaking in activities, like strikes for example. There are times I want to matchmake and times I want to run strikes on the playlist solo. Give me the dang option

  • Right. I've mentioned several times matchmaking should be available, but optional across the board. I like the limitation to three-person activities the player above noted, because...I don't know about matchmaking a raid - although really, LFG is just manual matchmaking. I agree with you though. Having the option to turn off matchmaking would be great for players who don't want to use it.

  • He is talking about making this game more fair for everybody not just a certain type of player. You idiots don't realize this is a very diverse community there are all types of players which calculates to 1 million players. if you focus on one type you're basically taken away a quarter to a million of players away from that 1 million player base. that's like if you had a grocery store and your grocery store is packed and you only wanted 20 customers out of 500 you are literally losing money. that's bungees mindset they only want to focus on maybe 20% of the player base and ignore the rest. Like it or not most of the players in this community are solo players... on top of that you think solo players are casual players when in fact most solo players are actually 970 + because most players who are 970 are not 970 because of pinnacles they are 970 because of the power bonuses..

  • Thank you for responding. You kinda nailed it. I have an abundance of time, and spend it playing Destiny. I am 971 on all characters with the power bonus; I gained three artifact levels last week alone, and another one Wednesday. That’s over 8,000,000 XP, mostly from match made activities, popping bounties. Iron Banner was actually fun most of the time. No raid GoS completions. Three Pit of Heresy clears. That’s it, which I’m sure is more than some. There was team stuff occasionally, and my daughter plays Destiny as well (not as often as I do; she’s in college), but most of the time it’s just me and whomever I get matched up with. Did all my Vex Offensive triumphs last week. That’s a lot of shooting. Judging by the number of people who have liked this post, I’d guess there probably is a population of solo players who wouldn’t mind being able to just launch into a Master Nightfall. It couldn’t be that hard for Bungie to make this happen, and would in no way diminish the experience of players who don’t fly solo.

Just like you I have a lot of time to play video games but I just don't see my time invested Wise just to do power bonuses when it's going to go away either way. I'm the kind of person when I do something I wanted to have a purpose even if it's a video game you know I want to have a goal to accomplish. I mean just imagine if you level up every season to max level only for the level to disappear every season there really wouldn't be a point to play the game and that's what I feel like about the power bonuses.

  • I mean, I’ve been playing video games my entire life. She and I had some friends in D1, a few of whom I still play with, that taught me a little about armor and weapon stats. She’s better in PvP than she will admit though, especially with a good HC.

  • Yep and it's crazy how people are not talking about the fact that Bungie removed the milestone for vex offencive.. you know the milestone that required you to kill enemies the more powerful enemies you kill the more percentage you got. I think the milestone was a tier 2 or tier 3. Besides Bungie should make some Pinnacle activities for solo players. I really think if bungee added more diversity to their Pinnacle system and added more Pinnacle activities on top of that people would actually do the activities. just like what I said earlier I don't do the Pinnacle activities because I don't see the point. The drops are terrible it does not value player time invested. even with the power bonuses it's going to go away after each seasonal reset. I only log in to stay active in my clan. I already completed everything I can do collected everything that I wanted. honestly I probably would do the raid if the raids were like in Destiny one simple straight to the point.

  • Yea lfg the place where you tell people to wear Nightmare mods when you do a master Nightmare and they don't even listen. instead of actually following directions they just rage quit like a bunch of little kids. You know what you can do with lfg you can shove it up your ass.

  • I know right. There shouldnt be an argument about it. there should be some accessible Pinnacle activities that have matchmaking. The problem is a lot of these people in the community they don't want to have an actual community they just want to have a community of people of a particular player type. people don't realize this community is full of casual players old people playing Destiny young people playing Destiny hardcore players. hardcore players are just a small percentage of the community not the whole. people with this kind of mindset are the problem of why Destiny will never become a actual social game. pull up when you can't have a community if players discriminate against people who are not hardcore players. Personally I'm a hardcore player I play Destiny 24/7 for the most part. However when I State an opinion or talk about something it's not for my benefit it's for everybody.

  • Pinnacle gear is meant to be for the hardcore players, 960 wasnt originally meant to be obtained, just a magic number to chase after as a facade for not having actual endgame content. Someone calculated that at the +1 power that pinnicle released at it would take 44 weeks straight to get to 960. I did my own math for the pinnacle system and it came out to about 5 weeks if you got every single drop to drop perfectly. IE no more Kinetic weapon drops after you hit 960 for Kinetics. Ive said it many times before and im sure ill say it again in the future, Pinnacle wasnt meant for casual players to achieve, Bungie themselves stated that

  • Wow! I'm glad I decided not to grind any longer for those +1's. It doesn't make sense given that 950 is good enough for all endgame content and in a few weeks you'll be able to get past 960 with the new season.

80 +1 items to get you from 950 to 960, no duplicates. 50 +1 items on other characters, if you have guns. Now we have 6 stable pinacles per week and character, curently +1 pinacle from festival, and once per month another 4 from Iron Banner. So for hardcore players, stuff to grind for few seassons. Fair enough for me.

  • Like I said I checked your highest keratin which is 979 and your gear is not above 950. Your high is drop is 953... I mean if the system was fine and dandy then YouTubers and streamers and regular players as well wouldn't be saying that the Pinnacle system drops are garbage. even bungee mentioned how later seasons they are looking into making the Pinnacle system more rewarding. It's one of the reasons why I'm not even doing the Pinnacle activities because I can see it as worthless. I don't see it as worth players time. same for the power bonuses they're going to reset anyways what's the point?? I already tackled all the difficulties up to Legend. I was close to be a master nightmare if my team actually wore the bloody nightmare mods 😂

  • Yeah I mean I understand that but do you really like how slow the system is though.. there's no way you're going to hit 960 gear with his kind of slow Pinnacle system by December 10th even if you started at the beginning of Shadowkeep... I mentioned 960 gear because you do realize the power bonus that you have right now that gave you such a huge leap in power resets every season. The only power level you will have on December 10th is your gear score.

  • So you rather bring in stupidity... when somebody says don't bring in logic that just proves you want the game to be broken... you don't want this game to have a community that you want this game to be focused on one type of player but you don't get it this is a video game of course but this is a video game produced by a multimillion-dollar company.. they are in the business to make money and to bring in customers. when a company or a business alienates their customers and only focus on a particular type of customer that's how they lose the product that's how they lose customers. Destiny cannot coexist without customers/players that includes casual players that includes solo players they are all part of this community. Just like what IGN said a year ago you can't have a player base if you only focus on focusing players because they are not the vest majority of the community
