If you aren’t willing to play people who can give you a game every time you step into the arena then you aren’t “competitive at heart.”
Former athlete here.
If you argues for your “right” to suit up against people of significantly less ability than yourself, because you don’t feel like making your best effort?
At best you’d lose the respect of your team mates. At worst they’d tell you to clean out your locker and go home.
You kids don’t understand the difference between PRACTICE, and PLAY. If you want to practice with a different loadout NOTHING is stopping you.

Wow. Imagine not having any reading comprehension...
-
I read just fine. Which is why I can recognize a load of self-justifying bullshit. People are truly competitive at heart LOVE to test them selves. To push themselves to get better by playing the best, and others at their best. They NEVER argue for the right to beat up on the weak.
-
You Sir, can drop the mic. Spot on.

Athlete...join the club dude. This isn't NFL,NBA,NHL,MLB or any college sport program...nobody here is trying to make a career or money from playing a video game. This isn't a career like a "sport." At what point did ANY video game or sport REQUIRE your best effort? Also, please tell me what major league professional PAID athlete is upset about playing people from lower on the totem poll of their region...EVERY sport has top tier and bottom tier and middle tier players and in those REAL sports you HAVE to play people of all skill level...what you're saying is if you are the BEST you have to play the BEST ...EVERY game of the season.....now tell me why they have a super bowl? OH WAIT that's right...that's where the best meet right? We have that and its called comp.
-
Then stop fooling yourself that it’s competition. What this guy wants is the right to farm other players—-and ruin their fun—-for his own enjoyment.

what exactly makes anyone think they are ENTITLED to have bungie hold their hands and make special playgrounds for the people that lack skill? Last I checked we aren't in a socialist era...do you ask for bumpers when you go to the bowling alley to avoid losing to a pro bowler who's logged thousands of hours? Skill is EARNED...I mean lets be real here...where exactly in life does that concept of having a level playing field exist? NOWHERE...why? because everyone wants to get ahead and see the fruits of their labor. There is always competition...maybe its varying degrees of it but, with every gun in the game practically killing in 1sec or less I'd say everyone has a fighting chance regardless of lobby. Lets say you perform really well at work and you work your ass off to get good at your job...now your job is a lot easier and you make the same money but you work less since you acquired skill...now your boss tells you that you have to do the same work you struggled to get good at but twice as much as you used to...EVERY day, for the same amount of $. How long until you find another job buddy? You and everyone else act like high skilled players weren't at one point a low skill player...just because they earned and developed the ability to beat most people doesn't mean they should have to cater to the people who HAVEN'T put in the effort and time to compete with them. idk what planet you people live on but not only is that completely wrong and unfair its an entitlement complex to think you DESERVE to go against people your own skill because that environment doesn't exist in 9 out of 10 games nor in life...grow up snowflake

The alternative to playing people of your skill is playing lower skilled players. Why do you want to play against people you can dance circles around?
-
the point of a game is to have fun...fun is to unwind...relax? Lets not even pretend that you play people of the same skill there is always a couple people in the "average" players lobby that dominate. The alternative to playing same skill is playing randomly matched players of varying skills. This is why we have had COMPetitive and QUICKplay modes all of D2. You can understand the difference between QUICK and Competitive yes? You also understand what quickplay infers correct?
-
Want to relax? Farm bots on patrol.
-
I have more fun playing against people of my skill or better than playing against lesser opponents. As such, I support sbmm. You clearly dont, so go play Classic mix.
-
triggered much dude...confronted with logic all you can do is say well go screw yourself passive aggressively lol
-
You want to avoid sbmm, play classic mix, it’s connection based. What’s the problem?
-
I never said I wanted to play connection based or skill based...I'm clearly pointing out the difference between them and the whole purpose for Bungie having separate brackets for try hard games vs relaxed games and the importance of having both options for all players to choose from...however what I do think is that there should be freelance quickplay like there is for comp...this will eliminate the lower skilled players getting stacked teams of stat farmers...there is a difference between a skilled player and a player who just wants to boost his ego. Most skilled mature players hate stomping a lobby of players as much as the players getting stomped...it turns into a running game instead of a shooting game. You run from spawn to spawn fire twice maybe three times and repeat. I can't stand it on either end.
