As a Voidwalker main since Day 1 D1 and a pvp focused player it is sad to see the state of locks in pvp. The melee needs fixing and has for over a year. Nova Warp the one super a blink user could hang their hat on has been over nerfed and can be taken down with a single Erentail shot. All the subclasses in general are weaker than the other classes. Exotics are either pve based or just plain bad. If you’re playing comp you basically use Transverses, Ophidians, Contraverse or Astrocyte. My Legend grind this season was all solo and I was often the only lock in the lobby. Warlocks need some love. C’mon Bungie it’s time.

  • nope, also works in pvp. Its only practical in mayhem, but it does work. And you can trust me on this, im literally the dude who found the glitch.

  • The glitch im referring to is the whole triple explosions stuff with canceling out a super. If thats also what you are thinking of the please look at the videos posted online.

  • well for in game mechanics there really isnt anything wrong. sure, melee sucks, but we do have more range granted you abuse the animation of the melee(just jump backwards when you melee). sure, its not like the class is anything special in pvp, but given you use some other strats, like nezeracs sin with light reactor, you can get an edge over just about anyone.

  • fun fact. Your lack of skill comes to weapon game and not abilities. I dont run meta, and I also dont assume that the few times you get into a melee fight or super cast does anything to affect kd, because it dosent. and yes, warlocks can have more range, and weve always been able to do so, you just need to exploit game mechanics.

  • trash players are trash. Learn to use the class before you blindly complain about the little things. If you had the skill to do so you would know that the vast majority of warlocks sit quiet on this topic because of the extra range exploit.

  • Agreed, always been a voidlock main, was a devour main for a long time, got my Luna’s in week 3 of forsaken with devour because I refused to use novawarp and so stuck in my ways (little did I know how stupid strong it was) now I’m a warp main because devour takes too long to proc, the super is beyond pathetic in the current sandbox. In real terms the actual neutral game of devour isn’t that strong when MT, recluse and arc battery exist. That and the neutral game of warp just renders the other 2 nodes obsolete, why use a pathetic void grenade that most likely won’t hit when I can transform it into a 17m shotgun counter, and have a melee that does 150dmg, the other 2 void nodes need a big buff in PvP, maybe devour needs to grant a 10 second overshield on initial proc, maybe cataclysm needs to grant grenade energy and a small bump to health on grenade HIT’s, just something that gives them a viable reason to be used.

  • Yeah Nova is not very good in PvP now. Miss Lance quite a bit but top tree is kinda hard to outrun no matter what all the legends on the forums say. But it has went from my go to when the chips are down to I hardly ever use it. Agreed that Nova warp was over nerfed. If it still lasted a long time it would be a trade off and force you to blink etc. But they hit it too hard and it drains too quick and feels like wet toilet paper. However I disagree with them being weaker. I find both Dawnblade paths very strong. A lot of players complain about them heavily and they even nerfed it a touch along with striker. That says a lot. I think the top is heavily under rated as the dash is strong and it gained very slight tracking in late yr 1 and is very manageable to use. I'm a huge fan of top stormcaller. Arc web is outstanding and i have out maneuvered many and won more super vs super battles that i have lost due to ionic blink. Agree with your exotic assessment though think an honorable nod should be given to getaway artist as that build is super annoying when played well. The other classes have about the same amount of "usefull" pvp exotics as you only ever see a few on each. I would say voidlocks need some love for PvP. Que the "you have handheld supernova" argument lol

  • Same. I've been a voidwalker since day one. I miss being able to use Lance to knock somebody out on the other side of the map. And I liked that using Nova bomb gabe me my health back. I wish they would move back closer to the vampire esque style that voidwalkers were in D1.
