Don’t know about anyone els but when I was younger and games always released as full games cosmetics were a reward, not something on the side.
Take Spider-Man for example, whenever you unlocked a new suit it felt good, it made you happy. This Isn’t affecting gameplay physically but it does affect the way we as gamers feel and personally I think that does affect the game. Especially in a looter shooter where cosmetics are actually a pretty big thing.
Saying “it’s just cosmetic, it doesn’t affect gameplay” is the best way you can allow companies to continue to get away with Putting them behind a paywall.
People buy ornaments, sparrows etc, believe me. So these are desirable items and if you ask me they should be completely accessible in game even if it takes hours of gameplay.
In all seriousness would you not rather People grind your game for hours, or log on and buy one thing?

Yet they don't also seriously consider how gaming has gotten more popular to offset that, and how developers have changed their routines as well. Literal morons pretending to be smart, and corporations knowingly helped breed them because they're pure scum. Oh and let's not forget the absurd expectation of making all of the money that ever existed or you fail.
Bread lol
