TWO.SEPERATE.TEAMS..
just that easy..the eververse item team is NOT working on the core game issue list..
and they CAN'T, since those dudes are trained to do a DIFFERENT TASK.
its like asking your roofer to fix your car.. u got the wrong guys..

I'll have you know my roofer is a very good mechanic.

part of OP's argument though is that when the devs add anything new to the game it creates more bugs and problems for the programmers. so maybe a season or just a month or two for the programmers to catch up and properly test new additions to the game would help the overall experience for everyone.
-
What's one example of a ship bugging the game out?
-
literally every DLC and expansion launches with bugs. is this a serious question. one example in shadow keep is the nightfall ordeal being bugged.
-
A ship. A ship had not bugged out the game
-
oh wow you want a super specific example of one type of item causing issues. well surprise surprise i can't think of any off the top of my head (so i guess you win this one huh) but i wouldn't be shocked to find out A SHIP!!! having caused problems in the past.
-
How about a ghost shell? Sparrow? Shader? No cosmetic item has ever bugged the game out
-
Editado por parallelish: 10/23/2019 1:37:41 PMthe argument isn't that specifically cosmetics are causing bugs and crashes but that too much time is allocated to cosmetics rather than fixing bugs and crashes, and cosmetics probably aren't the culprit when it comes to these things however every time a DLC or expansion ships it comes with these things. for example right now: forgers and related quests are bugged, powerful rewards are not dropping in certain activities, a new exotic (Divinity) is causing players games to crash, just to name a few things as well as a large uptick in error codes. so sure its probably not (but very well could be) the fault of any cosmetic piece but the devs and programmer could still take some time to fix all of these issues before concentrating on new emotes and ghost shells. and now that i say that i remember an emote in D2 year 1 that allowed players to cross invisible walls and they had to shut down trials for a good while so they could fix it, so year theres your example of a cosmetic causing issues.
-
Except that those are unrelated. The artists that design cosmetics are not the same as the devs that code and fix code. They're different people with different ability sets. If you asked the cosmetic artists to code fixes to bugs, you'd end up with a massive disaster.
-
so now you're moving the goal post when i give you an example you asked for... thats cool. Also i guess you forgot my first comment that you replied to:
part of OP's argument though is that when the devs add anything new to the game it creates more bugs and problems for the programmers. so maybe a season or just a month or two for the programmers to catch up and properly test new additions to the game would help the overall experience for everyone.
so yeah i totally get that they're two separate teams with different skill sets.
-
So your solution is to slow down development to allow a "catch up." Great. And what do you propose that the artists do during that time.
-
they could still develop art, just not implement it when they normally would and have more time to test it. anymore brain busters or goal post moving?
-
There's no reason to "test" cosmetics. If you want production halted for a few months, by the other teams, in order to work out kinks in their stuff, then fine. But that's a completely different argument. As written, you want production halted on the art team because the dev team needs polish. Basically, whining about eververse is an easy target.
-
seems like theres a lot of problems arising with festival of the lost, and what is in the majority of the update?... you guest it... COSMETICS
-
no reason to test emotes (cosmetics) that could potentially let players glitch through walls? i never said production should be halted on the art team, i literally just said they could still develop new art and just wait to implement it. (waiting doesn't mean they can't continue to work on more art) so it seems you've gotten away from moving the goal post and on to straw manning.

In all fairness bro we are talking about the same crowd that thinks making video games is a easy task. Hell thanks to the destiny crowd was 1 of the reasons that helped push me to drop out of college, I just didn't want to make video games anymore ( I prefer book writing). Being a developer is not where it's at unless you want that stress and unnecessary toxicness.
-
-blam!- the toxicity, go back to college and become a game dev and then turn your books you write into games. I love Indy dev games.

Editado por SirJackofCamelt: 10/22/2019 11:03:30 AMI have thought of returning after I was in a better fincial spot for animation tho since I still got my Zbrush software and what not. Pixar/ disney style cause that shyt is really cool.
-
Well I hope you give it another try at some point. I'd love to see new ideas come to the gaming industry
-
I wouldn't be mad at it if someday I got a offer like the witcher but game development just isn't for me. As much as I wanted it to be, I just found other interest which isn't a bad thing, ya know. So it's not like my college experience was all bad, I learned a lot made good friends with peers and professors alike just I'm down a different route.
-
Nah, the main reason I dropped out is 1) the debt isn't worth it, don't really care what anyone has to say. In America it's just not and 2) the more I learned about gaming the less I wanted to play games cause it ruined gaming for me, once that veil was pulled back I personally couldn't view games the same I do still play with my software but I can do more with novels than I ever could with a game but the same can be said with movies too. Novels just allow for more freedom as a visual artist.
-
Exactly. A lott of peole just don't understand this. It's like saying "Well you work at NASA! Why aren't you building more rockets??" "Cuz I'm at NASA's HR?"

I've been messaged on reddit by a dude accusing me of being a military child murderer in the middle east. Like chill bro I fuel airplanes.
-
Funny story about that, I’m actually Military (88M) basically I can operate any military grade vehicle. So I’m getting my morning coffee before reporting to my unit to speak with my CO (commanding officer) This random woman; i wanna say about in her thirties. Walks up to me and boldly asks “how does it feel to be a child murderer” I was so bewildered like ma’am....I’m the Uber driver for the Army chill
