Not saying the sandbox is perfect, but it's the most balanced right now that it has been ever in D2. Everything you listed doesn't make sense. Roaming supers have been significantly toned down and are quite easy to kill now. High-impact handcannons always have and always will have one of the worst TTK values in the game due to their inherent nature. Even then, the range at which someone can outgun you with an SMG is close enough that it would beat out any handcannon besides TLW. Team imbalancing I can maybe see, but us good players tried to tell y'all that sbmm wouldn't help anything and would only make certain playlists unplayable for us, which is exactly what's happened. Lastly, no recent weapon nerfs made for PvP have affected PvE. Shadowkeep's sandbox update actually included a lengthy list of damage perk nerfs that affected PvE only.

  • Just curious to see what you think is unplayable due SBMM?

  • My clan and I can't play any 6v6 playlist besides Classic Mix (the only connection-based playlist)

  • Fair point, good to see someone with a sensible answer. I don't play a lot of crucible due to being 💩, but I do like Iron Banner being SBMM as I feel like I'm finally slowly improving. But I can see the other side of the coin. I play with clan mates too and some of them are stupid good. I get stomped in most of them games as my reactions aren't as good as the opponent's, but I have fun which is why I play games. CBMM is better as a whole but I do think there's a place for SBMM too. They just need dedicated PvP servers, which would help with the connection no end. As for a full team struggling to find a game due to SBMM, that to me is truly stupid. They could go off the host, highest still or average skill if the group to determine the match.

Yes, they should go off of average skill of the team. My PvE friends don't have fun a lot of times playing with me because it goes off the highest skilled person on the team as far as I can tell. I agree SBMM has a place but Bungie's version of it is just too much. The paramaters shouldn't be nearly as strict. 6v6 is supposed to be a casual playlist and is like scrim lobbies for me. I think anyone with a 1.0+ kd should be matched together.

  • Yeah I'm sure it goes off highest skill, I was doing fine yesterday in IB then a friend joined and I found myself way out of my depth. I tried though lol. They seem to be at a loss as to what to do, they need to realise they can't please everyone.

  • They are too concerned with pleasing people who don't even play PvP and only go into it for quests, instead of the actual PvP playerbase. Not saying the game should be completely catered to good players, but they have swung too far in the other direction. The players who end up becoming good eventually, they normally don't mind a challenge and are willing to work to get better, and the game should get easier for them as they get better, not harder. The ones who admit they hate PvP, but think that it should be catered to them, are the ones Bungie caters to the most.
