There is a reason everyone leaves the fanatic strike. It gets old after the first 2 completions. the boss is annoying. Sure, it's fun one time, but the replayability goes down the drain. After seeing gameplay of the new strike, I was baffled by the fact that you had not drawn this conclusion yourself. making the boss fight 10 minutes long just for the sake of making a long boss fight is not good design. Bosses that have a timed dps phase are much more fun (take for example inverted spire, darkblade ect) and offer much more replayability.

I never leave the Fanatic strike. I actually like that fight. Now the Corrupted, I hate.

1 RespuestaI mean, I don't say this to come across as an a-hole contrarion but: I've never left the Fanatic Strike. Honestly I think Health Gated bosses are a big improvement over the "Pure Bullet-Sponge" Bosses we had in D1. Sepiks Prime, Valus Ta'aurc, etc. Those were just boring Boss Fights. - "Take out a wave of Ads, pump DPS into Sepiks until he dies." There was no innovation, there was no sequence or pattern or rhythm to the battle. It was just, "Ugggghhh, Sepiks has too much Health." Destiny 2 has done a much better job of avoiding that.

2 RespuestasSomeone should tell Gearbox as well. Borderlands 3 is full of bosses with immunity phases.

8 RespuestasThey should make more dynamic bosses like the Inverted Spire and Exodus Crash bosses. Those bosses actually switch tactics as the fight goes on, they aren't confined to one spot or small area, and they aren't afraid to get aggressive. The EC boss in particular doesn't come with that damn stomp ability either, so getting close is actually a viable option! Some other bosses like Brakion and Bracus Zahn are also a bit dynamic, but they still have those dumb healthgates restricting them as well as that goddamn stomp.
