Because it's not 'technically' a public event.
It's a triggered horde mode activity that is publicly accessible.
Public events are timed ans still happen even when EP is not active.
During Active EP a public event will still 'insert' itself in the the EP.
The other think you should be doing is zone missions during EP or the pub events. It will increase progress.

Editado por stonecold_venom1: 9/25/2019 5:00:22 PMActually technically it is a Public Event, every time I join a EP is says on my screen "Joined Public Event" :) just saying...
-
Please re-read my first sentence
-
Editado por stonecold_venom1: 9/25/2019 5:34:11 PM"Because it's not 'technically' a public event." That 1? you are saying technically it's "not" a public event? But it is LOL!
-
See this is where your misunderstanding of the term 'technically' comes into play. It 'displays' that it's a public event in game but technically it's not. It doesn't count towards public event progress because it's a player activated/triggered even and not a timed world event.
-
Never the less, a lost sector is a player triggered event and that counts....... Therefore doing a EP should also count..... No?
-
Editado por X-LoganX: 9/25/2019 6:47:32 PM
a lost sector is a player triggered event and that counts
It's different. A Lost Sector is a persistent instanced location already living in the world. Players (in the same fireteam) free roam in and out of the instanced activity. Separate fireteams can load multiple instances. It's not a 'push a button' activity that enters the live world. As I said in another reply. I agree that it should count. BUT there are differences in the kind of activity it is. EP was brought in as a triggered horde mode activity. NOT to supplant or add to the 'Public' Event activities. IMHO the should never have 'labeled' it as a Public Event.
-
Ok maybe re-word it then because you are making it sound like it's technically "not" a public event but it game it is and should count toward the flash point which is also in the game and it's considered an activity :) Sorry about the misunderstanding though if that's what you meant by technically lol
-
Editado por X-LoganX: 9/25/2019 6:47:52 PM
you are making it sound like it's technically "not" a public event
That's exactly what I'm saying. The technicality is that it is NOT a public event despite what it displays in game. EP was brought in as a triggered horde mode activity. NOT to supplant or add to the 'Public' Event activities. IMHO the should never have 'labeled' it as a Public Event.
-
Editado por stonecold_venom1: 9/25/2019 7:00:00 PMBut it is a public event opened to the public.. Lost sectors count for the flashpoint and it's not public so technically so should EP, it's an activity on Mars and it's open for the Public to join just like regular public events :) It doesn't matter if a player has to trigger it, it is still for the Public on mars.
-
So to be clear. As I said in another reply. I agree that it should count. BUT there are differences in the kind of activity it is. EP was brought in as a triggered horde mode activity. NOT to supplant or add to the 'Public' Event activities. IMHO the should never have 'labeled' it as a Public Event.
It doesn't matter if a player has to trigger it...
Apparently it does to Bungie. We're going in circles so I'll just leave it at that
-
It's Bungie's fault for false advertisement! ;)
-
I will agree to that LoL.
-
Doesn't need to be one. Flashpoints ask for activities EP is one of them on Mars
-
It doesn't say "Public" Activities? I'm not really disagreeing on what it needs to count for. I wish it did too. I just felt it was explained at some point what the difference was. Doesn't the same thing happen with Blind Well?
-
No, it doesn't Lost Sectors and Heroic Adventures count Dreaming city doesn't even have a Flashpoint, can't test the Blind Well
-
Dreaming city doesn't even have a Flashpoint
What? Man...I really need to pay attention. I could have sworn it did and I was grinding there specifically for completions.
-
Nope, maybe you're thinking that because of the oracle offering that comes from completing Blind Well. Other than that, every location except Dreaming City has been a flashpoint.

It has its own thing every week
