I recently returned to the game with my friends encouragement, with him saying that the game is in a pretty good state at the moment (compared to the first few months of launch, when I played). I got back on and was pleasantly surprised with how good the game felt on PC and how much fun I was having. A lot of the new systems also seem much better. Shadowkeep is looking great, I'm feeling excited for it, and this is all during a time when I need a fresh game to grind out. I'm actually enjoying Destiny again, amazing stuff.
Here's where everything falls apart. I get to lvl 30, playing through Warmind, doing activities and getting some cool new stuff along the way. My friend happens to get 750 light on his Hunter at the same time so he's pumped; jumps off to get on his 32 Titan so we can do the whole powering up dynamic together. Now, I am already disappointed by my inability to play Forsaken; the DLC is currently completely unobtainable, if anyone has noticed. Anyway, despite the fact important content is locked away for me, I am enjoying the game regardless. I am leveling up, catching up in a handicapped way. But when I notice that because I don't have Forsaken I can't even level with my friend, I am capped at 30...
This is too much. Typically before a DLC or expansion launch, players come back to try out the game and to get reacquainted. One of the most active times in WoW's play cycle is the few months leading up to an expansion release. I was perfectly happy to pay for Forsaken, but if something is going on with the Bungie/Activision separation that is making it impossible to buy the game... they need to unlock the content for everyone. I can't progress in the game any further. I want to catch up in the weeks leading up to their big content drop and I legitimately just can't. It's impossible. Please unlock the content so I can progress with my friend. Otherwise I don't know that I even want to play Shadowkeep - let me play Forsaken so I can taste what the game has to offer. Or, at least, level to 50.
