You in the USA? Buy a Shotgun (rubber bullets for non lethal deterrent) Keep your family safe! 👍
yup. that way the criminals steal the shotgun while you're away instead of the electronics. you can make a hell of a lot more money on the street with a firearm than you could with a xbox. 🤘🏽

Editado por Papa Bear Does ... Stuff: 9/13/2019 6:09:20 PM
Buy a Shotgun (rubber bullets for non lethal deterrent)
Joke, yes? G2 R.I.P. As for when yer not home ... get a dog. I suggest a Dutch Shepherd, or American Bully. Both breeds are very family oriented and LOVE to please, but also protective of their territory. You will need to invest in training, especially recall and introductions. My home defense involves, cameras, & 7 dogs (1 is a Great Pyr that looks like a giant polar bear). If you get past the dogs, then there are 4 different firearms in varying calibers hidden around the house, and multiple blades. If you make it past that, then you get the 12 gauge and the RIP rounds. Long story short, if you come in the house with malicious intent, you do not get to leave. to the OP: I sympathize with your plight. We had a home invasion while we were home, which is why we've fortified the house, so I have a vague clue as to what you're dealing with. I hope things work out for you!

Dude, I pack. Doesn't mean squat if I'm not home
-
Me and my pregnant fiance went to go see IT 2 and when we came home our house was robbed
Ignoring the other stupid suggestions (rubber bullets 😂😂😂😂) but clearly OP wasn’t home when his house was ROBBED. Clear distinction there because if he was home, it’d be a home invasion. So, no matter what guns he would’ve had, wouldn’t mean squat since he wasn’t there....

Rubber slugs, lol. Customized Akdal Mka 1919 XN gas-operated, box-fed, semi-auto 12 gauge with 00 buck. Then there's the custom piston-driven AR 15. And the Canick TP9 SF 18+1 loaded with CJHP. You come at me and my own and I will put you in the dirt and sleep fine afterwards. Castle laws are a pretty good burglary deterrent, knowing you can legally be killed for illegally crossing any threshold of any domicile. 'Murica.

Funny enough, not every country has such lapse gun control & unlicensed/illegal gun owners So yeah, secure gun cabinet, (Farmer 😉) so Baton Gun (with military non lethal plastic/rubber rounds) and then there’s cartridge rounds...I’m former UK T1 Military & I guarantee I put any burglar on the deck with A: Hands or B: 12gauge to the chest! That’s if my Belgian Malinois hasn’t killed them first (or the Springer hasn’t licked them to death!😆)
-
Sure, LTL rounds will take the fight out of anyone with a good hit, provided you get one. Low light, plus iffy shotgun sights, plus adrenaline...I'll take buckshot with a 1" per yard spread all day long. I'm former military myself, so if someone brings hostility into my home and threatens my family, I'll put them in a wooden coat. The malinois is a nice touch. Damn good dogs. I've got a pit bull/lab mix and an english shepherd/st bernard mix and together they're close to 200 lbs. The springer's probably more useful than you think. It could wake up the malinois. By the way, don't think that Americans don't want better gun laws. 92-96% do (depending on the polls) including over 70% of "gun nut" NRA members, but......corruption. 'Murica.

Editado por Demon_XXVII: 9/13/2019 11:41:21 PMFormer RM, 20+ years service, 14 in Tier 1, on & beyond the FLET in multiple theatre of operations, means my eyes will be clear, heart rate at 45, the light will be right & the shot will be clean & true 👍 Plus my dogs are trained (1xEOD Springer & 1x T1 Door Kicker (the Malinois)....retired, but he’s always on overwatch 😈☠️ I’m pretty sure a pit/lab mix would eat the burglars, then everything in the fridge (Labs are greedy!) then try give you the sad eyes (blaming the intruders for the missing roast chicken 😆)

The coolest thing about the pit mix is that he's solid black, but when he reached adulthood, he started getting white around his face. He now looks like he's got warpaint of a white dog skull on his face. The funny thing is he was always a playful little jokester, and even though he learned how to fight sparring with the shep mix and a dane mix who has moved on, I always wondered if he would have the real fight in him. One day I was talking with a neighbor who had her two dogs (that he adores) and he was off leash (I live in the country). Two wandering dogs came over, and he got completely still. The bigger one made a move toward his ass, and he spun on a dime and had that dog's scruff over the jugular in his teeth in the blink of an eye. I mean, it was shockingly fast and precise. He then held that scruff for a few seconds, then started walking him away by his throat, making him walk sideways, away from us. Every few seconds he gave a little shake, saying, "one wrong move and I open you up and bleed you out right here and now." Then he walked over to us, never taking his eyes off of him, and stood between us and the dogs, watching them sulk away. He's got the real fight in him. Incidentally, I found him as a pup, a wanderer. His pads were rough as pumice and he had hundreds of tiny scars on his belly and legs from walking through briars and brambles. He also had demodectic mange, from poor diet and too much stress. I kept him, healed him, gave him a home with two older brothers. Anyone that buys a dog is doing it wrong. This is how you get a dog that will watch your back. Unless you're the rare sort like you that gets to take a service dog home. People, if you want a dog that will fight and kill to protect you, do the same for them first, and adopt the ones that are running out of chances.
-
Look after him Make sure he always knows he’s there to protect you all, but he’s bottom of the entire family pack
-
He wasn’t home, most robberies occur when nobody is home.

Editado por Demon_XXVII: 9/13/2019 11:55:49 AMDepends on what country he’s in There’s an increase of home invasion burglaries in the UK, with the householders been in the home Due to the of self protection law & nature of fear & injury, groups/gangs of violent burglars are intimidating, assaulting & threatening occupants (inc children) for fear effect, with many cases ending up in murder/manslaughter & GBH section 18

True, I did forget about that. Literally passed a law telling low life’s your free to steal as you please. We’ll convict those defending their property instead. Such an ass backwards law. Should have been if you breaking into a home or establishment you have forfeited your right to life. You are there by a subject to property owners mercy or lack there of.

Editado por MONKEYGOTRABIES: 9/17/2019 6:37:29 PMIn 'Murica we call those "Castle Laws." Most Southern and Midwestern states have them. Use of lethal force on an unknown assailant illegally crossing your threshold is self-defense, period.
-
Yet home owners shooting inside home still go to jail. Even worse one is if you literally fight them and they die. Then it’s excessive force. Castle laws aren’t quite what it sounds like. Odds are the jury still decides if that criminal illegally invading your home will have more rights than your own well being.

Editado por MONKEYGOTRABIES: 9/16/2019 5:24:32 PM2006 codified revision of SC Castle Doctrine: Protection of Persons and Property Act: S.C. Code Section 16-11-440(C) provides that- [a] person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in another place where he has a right to be, including, but not limited to, his place of business, has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he reasonably believes it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or another person or to prevent the commission of a violent crime as defined in Section 16-1-60.” Also, S.C. Code Section 16-11-450(A) provides that “[a] person who uses deadly force as permitted by the provisions of this article or another applicable provision of law is justified in using deadly force and is immune from criminal prosecution and civil action for the use of deadly force, unless the person against whom deadly force was used is a law enforcement officer acting in the performance of his official duties and he identifies himself in accordance with applicable law or the person using deadly force knows or reasonably should have known that the person is a law enforcement officer.” As such, the “Castle Doctrine” is not a “defense” to a crime like “self-defense” is. Instead, it provides IMMUNITY from criminal prosecution AND civil action for the use of deadly force. This means a person that is lawfully acting under the “Castle Doctrine” CANNOT BE PROSECUTED AND CANNOT BE SUED. I'm not sure you know what you're talking about. It certainly differs from state to state. Always know your laws especially before you purchase a firearm. When someone breaks into a home that is occupied, it has been determined that it is reasonable to assume that that person has the motive and capability to injure, kill, or take one or more of the persons inside, and therefore, you are within your rights to respond with deadly force. You will be arrested, because they have to determine the facts and circumstances. You can't shoot a kid that you've kicked out of the house, you can't kill someone repossessing your car, you can't kill a social worker coming to take a child into custody. You can kill a stranger criminally forcing their way into your house, car, hotel room, etc. Your case is always better if you have gone through all of the best options, calling the police, retreating as best as possible, and having witnesses in your home that will testify that you shouted a warning that you were armed and prepared to shoot. This is always best for many reasons. However, the code is above, and it is not vague. Castle Laws and Castle Doctrine are not the same as Stand Your Ground Laws. There is no necessity for retreat because it is your property, and you have the right to defend it with deadly force.

So the old lady sued by a burglar who fell through the skylight. Onto a cutting board with knives on it. Getting tore up from said knives. Wins his case even though he was illegally present. There are plenty of other examples where defending persons are criminally prosecuted for defending their home inside. No castle law is not iron clad as lawyers know how to bypass it to get a win. Randomly in youtube you’ll see a story about a home defense case turned criminal. Said person didn’t do anything wrong but stay alive. Also cases where individuals are sued by family of the criminal invading the home. I’ve seen these for years. It’s all about how corrupt the local justice is.

Editado por MONKEYGOTRABIES: 9/17/2019 7:31:28 PMOh great, so a few anecdotal cases are brought with no mention of the country, state and or their laws refutes the specific laws I brought up and backed up with the actual legal code. Cool. I love a straw man argument (with no proof of relevance). I think of Sakaarans as paper people. I brought up the concept of Castle Laws and how they protect those in the states that have them. My state has the above law. I provided the law for you. While obtaining it to cut and paste, I also researched cases to see how many people acted within the law and were sentenced for murder or manslaughter. Big fat goose egg. My comment was about states with Castle Laws or Castle Doctrine. If you're going to converse I'd prefer you stick to the conversation, and not bring up some story about a lawsuit from some unspecified and irrelevant state or country where the homeowner didn't even make an action relating to any form of self-defense. Yes, there have been some screwed up incidents where homeowners were screwed over, and unjustly prosecuted or judged in civil court. Yes, there have been some absolutely ridiculous outcomes. That's not not relevant to what I brought up.
-
Ca dude late 1990 for old lady case. No I didn’t bother to recited every single detail of the cases. Just noting they have happened and still happen. Doesn’t take much effort to research if your that particular. Either way the golden age ended and earth is in ruins. Democrats are gone and republicans are not needed. Just warriors with guns to protect what’s left of earth. No point in arguing with you here about this. Cases exist and are relatively known and reported on. Especially in the 2A movement.
-
CA doesn't have the laws I spoke of, so it's not at all relevant to what I brought to the conversation. Also, a few anecdotal cases (like the one you mentioned from over 20 years ago) don't define the norm. You're also guaranteed to hear about the outlandish injustices much more frequently than the far more frequent times things go as they should. You always hear about the times a commercial plane crashes. For each one of those there're tens or hundreds of thousands of times those planes land safely. You never see, "Pilot lands plane without crashing," on the news because that's the unremarkable norm that's expected. You could be an idiot that refuses to fly because of a couple of crashes you saw on the news, or you could be reasonable and informed, and know that you have a 00.00019% chance of dying in a plane crash vs a 01.29% chance of dying in a car crash. You're 6,789 times less likely to die in a plane, so perceiving it as dangerous isn't founded in reality. Anecdotal accounts are meaningless unless data shows they reflect the norm. You present nothing to show that criminals consistently have more protections under the law than their victims as you assert, you just back it up with the occasional times that they do. You're cherry-picking to construct a logical fallacy. You're absolutely right that there's no point arguing, because you're not equipped for it. And don't even come at me with "2A movement," LOL, I'm a former marine in a southern state working in the firearms industry. You make 2A supporters look bad. Especially in that diatribe at the end.
