How long does it take to get good at crucible?

After owning the game for about a year and a half, I finally decided to jump into crucible and comp last week. Currently, I am constantly losing matches in comp with about a 3:4 score split each game at ~800 glory. How long does it take to go from noob to 2100? Are the pinnacle weapons even an option for me to earn before shadowkeep?

  • Took my bud 180 comp games to get Luna, Revoker, and recluse. The Recluse was the hardest one for him to get. And people say they did it in one day.....smh

  • 1. Run the Meta even if you are too proud 2. Stay with your team at all times 3. Flank when possible 4. Do not chase your enemy, it’s a trap 5. Spread out Supers, don’t activate two in one round

    • It's not easy. Go watch Cammycakes, drewskys, nkutch and coolguy in YouTube. Don't try to be like them, but they have videos that help understanding how you can improve. I'm not a very good pvp player, but in the last year I improved. I got to fabled and earned Lunas, recluse and revoker. Try to understand what works for you. For example, for me before I go to pvp I usually do a few pve activities. This helps me warm up. Focus on specific things, for example if you want to use hand cannons learn how to be more consistent with the headshots, learn teh recoil patterns and the feeling of the gun. If you want to focus on dying less, learn how to evade people, how to use cover. Most important to me, learn to play as a team even if you're playing solo. Adapt to your team mates. Don't try to improve everything at once and don't focus on the results right away. Pick one or two areas you want to improve and focus on them until you feel confident. Then pick another area of improvement and do the same. With time, you'll feel more comfortable. There's not a guideline that you can follow so that you will start getting results within a certain time window. And don't forget you will play a lot of people. Some better than others and with different strategies and play styles. It's frustrating sometimes, but hang in there. If you start getting tilted, step out; go do something else and come back later. Don't pressure yourself. Good luck!
