Devs don't play the same game.

They play on a controlled server with a group of people who they talk to. This means they are in constant communication with players on both teams. Since they develop the game under these conditions, they essentially make a game that's gameplay is entirely different from the rest of us. Devs don't play the same game and don't have experiences like most other players. They live in a bubble. Not a titan bubble either.

  • This is true of a lot of games. They're designed with the mindset that people aren't dicks. I'm sure escalation protocol was designed this way, with everyone who loads in being happy to join up and play together randomly. But it actually created the opposite with people claiming instances and asking/demanding that any random in the zone leave. But then again designing it around everyone being a dick wouldn't work either.
