If this is what you are looking for, a simulation fps may be more your taste. Roaming supers are a bit of a problem but they will be reined in come shadowkeep. And sure, we can use some long range maps like the ones in combined arms, to get some variety from all the close encounters. Match making is connection based in quickplay, and rank based in comp as it should be. That being said, you will be getting some sort of sbmm in shadowkeep if that is more your cup of tea. As for weapons, there will always be meta loadouts and this has been true in all of Destiny's history. That being said, forsaken has the most variety of feasible weapons. Hand cannons, pulses, shotguns, fusions, snipers, and smgs, autos and sidearms to a lesser degree. And finally, the game is the same for everyone. You can pick a meta class and your best possible loadout to make sure you are not "disadvantaged". To summarize, it's not the crucible, it's you.

The Match Making is trash. I've just gotten to the point of getting a 6 man fireteam together every time. No more solo.

Supers, weapons, abilities, heavy, maps, game modes...

There's no such thing as perfect balance in a looter shooter with superpowers. Supers and maps need some tweeking but they are the same for everyone.
