Never forget the day Xur sold the Gjallerhorn
On 8/14/15 xur sold the gally for the first time ever.
Little did we know how this rocket launcher changed the game. No one thought spending strange coin on a rocket launcher was worth and spent coins on exotic armor that week. Back when strange coins were scarce.
So many guardians never got the gally to drop which lead into the best salty posts on these forums. Including the birth of smoggypluto

I didn't realize that Bungo was planning to completely kill of all of Y1 gear. I also remember that one week when Xur mysteriously didn't bring any weapon. Bungo claimed it was a bug and there was nothing they could do to fix it. But we all knew Xur had randomly brought Ghorn and Bungo then pulled the plug. They had to keep that shiny carrot on the end of the stick for us to chase. Then they nerfed Ghorn anyway before TTK and later brought back a watered down version in RoI.

That wasn't the first time he ever sold it. You're giving wrong information. He sold it the second week ever of Destiny back in September 2014.

I didn't know anything about xur during those days. But I did get ghorn from a legendary engram via the loot cave. I wasn't a high enough level to use it when I got it

That was the first or second time we met Xur. My husband was like Nah it's only a rocket launcher forget that. It took forever for it to drop for him he cursed himself for months.

3 RespuestasMy gally dropped the second week while on patrol from just shooting a dreg. Now at that time I had no idea how good it was so I infused it into my heavy machine gun. Never to get another one till the gally quest. Bitter stupid salty pissed

I had a small reminder last week when the jotunn finally dropped for me. Although the experience of doing that stupid forge bounty and only two chances per character per week to get it to drop (rather than gally dropping from any event) was stupid, I did let out a small gally scream when it did drop.

Picked it up, had exactly the right amount of strange coins. In the weeks after I couldn't equip it whilst in the tower without being hounded - 'We need 1 for VoG, you in?' 'Maaaate, come do VoG yer?' 'Please help uz wiv VoG;) ??' 'Put Galahorn on your back so I can see' The memories.

2 RespuestasThis sooo this!!!! Yeh I was one of the unlucky bunch of grinders who put 30+ hours in monthly just to get the ghally but it kept evading me. Then Xur finally sold it again. As I didn’t have enough strange coins the first time 🙈. I honestly believe that chase is what made D1 so great. That and finally defeating Skolas🙌🏻. Thanks for sharing this post. Brings back some epic memories. From a player who dropped out the grind about a month ago 👍🏻.

Remember when xur had all the good gear and you could rock up with your strange coins and has to decide what to choose from four individual lines with six individual slots which gave you plenty to choose from regardless of how much salt the elitist shitheads brought forward on the forum. So Bungie make xur great again because quest are poison to this game
