A new person's Light Level doesn't effect you whatsoever.

It kind of does. Makes upgrading anything right now kind of a bad move, and diminishes any investment made to this point. So if your playing now, it's like a waste of time. You could say the grind was worth it for exotics/rolls.. But most exotics are garbage and rolls come from pure rng.
-
If you're 750 right now, then you're 750 and are able to do things like Heroic Menagerie. This seasons Pinnacle content. That is the point of Seasonal power levels. Having the next season bump everyone to 750 doesn't affect you negatively in anyway. You're only putting that burden on yourself.
-
Its not a burden put on myself. Each previous season did not automatically boost everyone up to the previous max light upon login. They made you work no matter how miniscule the amount to get there. Last time it was from 690 up to 750. Now its a freebie that pulls everyone down to 0.
-
Wrong. It simply pulls everyone up to our current level. The various differences in power level, will sort themselves out in a month or so. And depending on your allotted, weekly/daily play time, you will once again separate yourself from others. You will once again be able to show off your effort. More so even. Because once you get to the initial 950 cap, you will be able to show off your in game prowess, by participating in, "pinnacle endgame activities," and have the opportunity to, "flex," your 960. Which is all the power level must mean to you, if you are bothered by the base level, being raised to the current max level now, imo.
-
And those who played should have an an advantage moving into new content. Since most exotics are garbage and everything else is easy to get; this move flushes all playtime down the 🚽.

Editado por SorrowW0lf: 8/17/2019 12:28:58 AMYou realize that our power level doesn't keep helping us after we are over level, right? Just because we played prior to Shadowkeep, doesn't and shouldn't mean we would or should have some type of advantage going into the new content. And when I say advantage I mean an actual statistic advantage due to our power level vs someone who starts playing, using new light, or simply just pays the full price and starts playing. Luke said himself the game has gotten too easy. So I expect, that regardless of being 750 or not, the story campaign will be more difficult. And we will face more of a challenge. Having others start at some type of disadvantage, would be no different than the pain we felt, when starting a new season, and having to spend a few weeks doing old content to be strong enough, just to try a forge. They see that as a mistake, and bringing everyone to 750 is the answer, at least this time. And if you simply want new people to suffer, and enjoy the game less, because you feel entitled to an advantage, due to time played? Then we are done talking. I have no interest conversing with people who think punishing new players to the franchise, is a good thing. Especially for vain reasons like, "I'm a veteran." Smh.

By your logic new players should be gifted all pre-shadowkeep exotics. It's nonsensical to say someone who has been playing a game longer should not have an advantage. Keeping people playing is just as, or more important than attracting fly by nighters. Might as well boost everyone after every season.. It's saying hey you don't need to play to stay up to date As far as the power level is concerned your right. Our levels get nerfed basis on the content we are in. But that doesn't matter. Luke said the game was becoming to easy because of some supers, mods and advanced perks... As a result everything is being nerfed to the ground. The nerfs had nothing to do with light levels and won't effect solo content at all. Unless you run story missions with a raid stack....
-
He didn't in fact say, everything would be nerfed into the ground. He said certain things would be retuned. With looking at how infinite ammo perks, and damaging buffs, have made the game less challenging. Which you can agree, has happened, right? And no, no one should get handed exotics. That is one of the things that will set apart veterans and the brand new players. They did the same thing when the Taken King expansion launched. And I don't know if they will do it with every season. But they are also trying to figure out, if they want the power climb to exist at all. There are players in the community that hate that they have to grind for higher power every season. I don't share their opinion, but that doesn't necessarily negate their opinions either. Or yours for that matter. Ultimately, it's Bungie's game. And they can do what they want. And in turn, we as gamers, can choose to keep playing, or move on. The only reason I replied to your comment, was to try and explain my opinion that the changes won't truly negate your previous time played. And encourage you to try to at least hang in long enough to actually test out the new content for yourself. And not just quit, because you assume the changes will break the game. Choice is still yours. Have a great day!

Jesus. If the starting point was 0 then changes to 750.. 750 is the new 0. I'm bothered by the change sure; the reason I'm bothered by it is simple, it makes 0 sense. Doing this makes pretty much everything someone does between now and Shadowkeep moot.. Why grind resources and infuse stuff up? The Devs basically just told us all to log off till October.
-
No, it affects absolutely everyone, not just me. It makes everyone equal to 0 power, its like having to start the game all over from scratch. But with a few fancy guns.
-
Except you will still be high enough power to participate in all previous offered activities. So it isn't starting over. It's just a mid game balancing. Balancing so, it will take less time for new people to catch up. Which helps both the in game match made activities, as well as, all the lfg activities. More people at relevant power levels, means better playlist populations. It may seem like some sort of slight against you from Bungie, I guess. But I'm confident that isn't their intention, and that, you will be okay. So try not to stress out about it. When remaining objective, it's a good thing.
