If you aren't doing end game activities there is no need to be max power
My fellow casuals, quit crying about not being able to get above x power. The fact that we won't get above 950 unless we do "pinnacle activities" isn't going to make what we play any more difficult or any less fun.
This crap of" He plays 12 hours a day and raids 50 times a week and has better stuff than me who plays 1 hour day and only does patrols" is getting ridiculous. People who play the entire content deserve the best things, people who don't, well, don't.
Edit: I fall into the playerbase that would be stuck at 950 i f I never do a raid or other pinnacle activity and I'm Ok with this as long as the rest of the content is designed so only being 950 is capable of completing it. If ANY content outside of pinnacle activities is going to be above 950 then I have a real problem with the 950 cap.
If there is going to be conent outside of pinnacle activities that only the below will stand a chance on completing it will be a major problem.

This is how it was back D1. Everyone who was beyond a certain level were considered people who did end game activities and beat em’ and there was actually a sense of accomplishment from surpassing the “casual” light level and beating the endgame and achieving higher light. ... then they took it away and everybody and their mommas was at max cap by just doing public events and strikes non stop. Happy they’re separating the hardcore players and the ones who don’t even know how to make a public event into an heroic

Yeah I agree with this tbh. Atleast when I see a high level player I know they have beaten some decent challenge, I still see 750's running around who can't make public events heroic. Think I preferred it the old way, showed a sign of commitment atleast to play harder stuff.

Umm Iron Banner? A non raider shouldn't be able to acquire light cap to compete? Don't even give me that "50 points less isn't that much".

If not i should be able to picm and choose what i pay for. But since bungie is extremely money hungry right now since daddy activision left and took the other 2 studios with him i got pay full price to get 1/3 content. Thats why. If i pay 100% of the price i netter get 100% of the content. Really is that simple.

I don’t care how good the game is, Bungie shouldn’t expect us to have to play every day of every week of every month just to enjoy the best parts of the game. This is supposed to be recreation, not a full time job.

It causes obvious elitism, you are a perfect example. Let's say the raid is 950. Anyone clearing it will end at around 955, for example. Suddenly if you aren't 955+, you're not allowed to raid by 99% of LFG standards. So now you're practically locked out of an activity that you need to do to get high enough to "qualify" for doing the activity. And round and round it goes. Think it's bad now, lol, it's going to get much worse... Also, think exotic quests. Do people that don't raid not deserve a new weapon? They do, but god forbid if they didn't do the raid, now they aren't high enough. I honestly don't care. They are adding the artifact which compensates the numbers. But all idiots like you are going to see is the flat number at 950 and think their 951 is a god in comparison...

I don't raid. Just because of reasons I won't go into, but there are going to be other pinnacle opportunities to gain power level. If solos don't run nightfalls, menagerie or even a little Iron Banner what do they do in this game now? I play solo most of the time and still do these activities. Whatever shadowkeep brings, a new dungeon or some type of mode I will definitely be playing it.

2 RespuestasI agree for that big of a difference in play times but there's also people that play for a lot of hours a day doing every non raid activity, either because they cant find people to run with or real life issues means they cant guarantee having the time it takes to do a raid uninterrupted. Yes I am one of those people that when I play I dont do raids but do almost everything else. Felt like the enhanced perks were already a good set up though for a good reward incentive for stuff like the raid. Unless I misinterpreted what all endgame activities would be. Meaning not just raids but also stuff that was suppose to be like EP and what not. Overall point though is that there are more in between people that play for hours without touching end game stuff and do more than just public events and such is part of it and a bit more justified.

True. You should need to complete all content in order to reach maximum level. I’ve never had issue with there being different ways to do this. Whether that’s raids, Iron Banner, or simply grinding. What’s somewhat bizarre is the full reset to 750. (Call it Ground Zero if you want but we’re all starting over at the same level and we didn’t lose all our gear this time.) I posted earlier about the future of this game come Oct. it’s gonna be a grind that hasn’t been experienced since the early days of D1. Start praying now to RNGsus.
