I do sympathise with you as I only got my ship a couple of cycles ago doing it on all three characters every time it came around.
But you have decreased your chances by 2/3 each cycle by only doing it on your hunter.
Bungie like us to grind.

I was already aware of my chances with one character. But even doing it on 3 wouldn't gurantee anything. My friend who wanted to help me run it got it on the first encounter, their first run. They, like me, only play their one character. Its sadly just the luck of rng.
