It would make more sense seeing how EV has evolved during the annual pass if he did in the context of those statements. If he is still there he probably feels bad about the shift in direction if he believed what he was saying.

I agree I can't see him wanting to make Tess a priority. That doesn't seem like he would be that type of person from the work he has done and the concern he has shown. It's the higher-ups...
