Return to Ada-1: Can't I just give her a call?
Why do we have to fly over after every quest step?
Did texting get destroyed in the great war?
The Cabal did away with twitter/Instagram?
Can't I just facetime Ada-1 from the forge? I bet my ship has a cell tower built in.

Ada-1 is extraordinarily secretive and for the most part does not trust the communication network. She is probably paranoid that if we were to communicate with her over the com network that others could listen in and gain vital information about the Black Armory. If you wanted information to remain secret would you send it over a communication line that could be monitored by the Vanguard (which you don't trust) or enemies out side the walls that would want you technology? Much safer to communicate directly in a place that you keep clean of listening devices (unlike the Drifter). Ada-1 is paranoid and secretive if she is given the option of not having to send her messages across the cosmos for all to read she wont. When dealing with someone as distrusting as Ada-1 you must play by their rules or you wont getting anything out of them, it's their way or the highway.
