This one is going to be different. As usual, it will be long and it will trigger your timbers. I really had to struggle to decide whether to even do this or not, for many reasons, but I will touch on my main reasons. I sometimes feel like I am the only one who can say things and you all will actually listen and I hate that with a passion, because we should all be listening to each other. I honestly did not want to do one this year. While there have been many changes, I do see a lot of changes that are needing to happen and are not. I float through a lot of posts and I see a lot of issues that could be avoided by folks that would start off treating each other with respect from the first reply they make and no, I am not talking about jokes either. A number of you immediately jump to the worst case scenario and treat others like shit. Instead of having a nice conversation, you have debates. You try to score a win and do not care about the wreckage of the feelings of the person. Yes, I know some of you "super cool" types will say, "what kind of idiot lets things on the net bother them". People do, that is who and that is what matters most. It doesn't matter if you are untouchable by internet words or not, it does not matter if you are just "paying it back". It has to start somewhere and you have the ability to be the change that we all need and deep down, want. I am not going to put names here in the appreciation part, because everytime I do, people are hurt I forgot them and it makes me sad & makes me want to leave. It is not a popularity contest, it is about thinking about those who have made an impact on you and I do not feel I can address that without causing upset. So, to those of you who come in here with a smile, I appreciate you. To those who never look to argue and if they feel a conversation is going that way, they detach from it or find a way to calm it, you are awesome. To those of you who see an issue erupting between users and try to step in and defuse it, I admire you. To those of you who look for the joke in what everyone says because laughter is wonderful, I will continue to try to be like you. To those of you who care enough to ask how others are doing, your thoughtfulness is a blessing to us. To those of you who want to share the pain of others to ease their burdens, you are an inspiration. To those of you who take the time to PM a clarification, thank you. To those you who witness our bad days and still give us likes on our good days, you are the best. Finally, the last group. To everyone who takes the time to see the person behind the user name, the ones who learn who we are and what we are about, the ones who remind us of why we come here and give us hope for a new, better day, I want to say how much you mean to me. You mean the world and you help folks face the next day, even when they want to break the world through anger & frustration or even walk away from it all due to not being seen for who they are and are hurting because of it. You people are the reason why I renew my commitment everyday to be the change I want to see in this world and it lifts me up when I fall from the highest bar I set for myself. You all know who you are and which group you fit in. If you don't know, then you should look at how you view yourself and realize that others do see your value and that matters. If you looked at this and said, I am none of that or who cares about that shit, then look in a mirror and see yourself for what you really are.
