It’s been fun ladies and gents, but I think it’s finally time to call it quits on this forum. I took a break a couple months back and ever since then I realized something. My life without Offtopic was so much... better. I guess I didn’t realize how much Offtopic resembled a high school. After all, most of you ARE high schoolers. Anyways back to the point. The people in Offtopic have changed many times over in the years I have been here. Over that time I’ve grown to realize something. Offtopic REALLY -blam!-ing blows and it’s becoming a graveyard because of it. It’s not to forum’s fault, it can’t make posts. It’s the people. I 100% blame the people. I myself am guilty of some of the things I’m about to list off so don’t think for a second I think my hands are clean. Take for example if someone posts something related to Destiny in Offtopic. What happens? They get flamed to high hell. What do you think that person is going to think about Offtopic when they visit Bnet again? You think they’re going to want to join in the conversation with people who just flamed them? Fat chance. Or what about political posts? I’ve noticed certain users (to include myself) get downvoted for literally EVERY POST they make, even innocent ones, while others get upvoted to the heavens. This just feeds to the general High-schoolery bullshit vibe that oozes from Offtopic. I mean, I might bash heads with some of you a LOT, but at least I can differentiate between a political troll post and an obvious light-hearted, innocent post. Grow the -blam!- up. The general “good old boy” club shit has to end for any REAL progress with attracting quality users here to be made. Now I know what all of you are thinking. “Literal who, See you next week, Bye Felicia, nothing of value is lost, etc etc”. I was the same way once. But if you truly want to stop Offtopic from becoming more of ghost town than it already is, you’ll cut the shit and grow the -blam!- up. I’m not even sure why I’m bothering to explain this because I know for a fact it’s falling on deaf ears (except for the people who listen, who aren’t part of the problem to begin with). In closing I only have 2 regrets. 1, that there are some honorable people still here I’m leaving behind (you know who you are), and 2, that I didn’t realize how childish this forum was and leave sooner. I will be deleting the app immediately after posting this and will not be responding to a single one of you :^). Enjoy your echo chamber ghost town, suckers.
