So this is probably going to come off as sounding entitled, but personally I'm kind of annoyed that Bungie are deciding to remove matchmaking for the Heroic mode. I haven't played with a clan, or had to go on lfg, apart from the nightfalls for Truth in months, and I think it's great that none of the seasonal activities have required pre built fireteams, no matter how hard they get, until now.
I honestly don't understand this decision at all, since there won't be any extra added challenges in this mode, only the fail states, so surely random fireteams would be able to clear it, after some trial and error.
I hope Bungie will reconsider this decision, as while Destiny is a social mmo-lite, plenty of players enjoy playing it solo. I don't mind the raids being cut off, since they are by nature very challenging and require high levels of cooperation, but everything else should be accessible to everyone.

1 RespuestaHave you played normal mode.... it’s so hit or miss. One match, 6 randoms steam roll the event, beating all the timers and melting the big hydra boss by the second plate. Next match, one guy had his controller rubber banded and is running in circles, the rest of the team are like chickens with their heads cut off and shoved into their posteriors, multiple deaths, can’t beat any encounter score, 49 minutes to beat the boss. Heroic is harder with extinguish. I’m not dealing with group B in the above example with a kick to orbit when we all (inevitably) die.

1 RespuestaNormal mode was to teach people how to do Menagerie and possibly make friends to play hard mode with. LFG isnt needed if you play with your clan or friends. How many corrupted strikes have you done where people dont know to pass the ball between each other to power up the ball? How many blight public events or the frozen boss PE and people dont know how to make it heroic? You want to randomly match up with these people without good weapons and no communication to play endgame activities that send you to orbit when you all wipe? Bungie thinks this is a bad idea and i agree. I do secretly hope they do introduce it so i can read about all of the people complaining about crappy matchmaking because the idiots dont know mechanics and cant stay alive. One guy quit out and ruined our run! I doubt they would back fill a heroic game mode if people left, people hate it when they join a crucible/gambit game mid match.

It would be reckoning 2.0

23 RespuestasIt's fine. No matchmaking guarantees that you won't get AFK people, and you won't be scattered after being Extinguished. You can even go and make an LFG post of your own that says "Heroic Menagerie, no mic casual run" or something and there will be people similar to you who will join. You can even go and message the people during or after a normal Menagerie run if they want to team up and do Heroic. This is exactly the way Raids should be with matchmaking for a Story mode for the experience and requiring a Fireteam for Normal mode for the loot. All content needs separations like this or it'll become one dimensional, boring and stale, yes even Menagerie.

46 RespuestasThe regular one is easy on lfg. So y make heroic non matchmaking. This game is so easy you could easily lfg everything. If you think it’s hard lol.
-
Editado por DHawk12: 6/23/2019 3:06:57 AM80% of attempts through matchmaking would result in a complete waste of time. Just like the reckoning, if you arent a warlock and you dont have one on your team then you are forced to leave right away.
-
I was confused by this somewhat until I ran menagerie to grab armor for my W last night Everyone was above 700 and nearly a complete team wipe at certain points, it was if the fireteam was AFK for most of it It will spare you lots of pain by entering the heroic version with a pre made team
-
Sucks but I will still get it done. Just make a list for chill people and it always seems to work. I stoped boing rando lfg posts and my success rate and stress levels improved lol the lfg will be full of “must have this” and “must be that” meh no skin off my back.
-
Teams on normal with matchmaking consistently don't finish the segments in time. With it being up to 770 I don't see any matchmade groups getting it done on heroic.
-
I’m gonna solo it because I’m grandmaster rank
-
16 RespuestasUh....I'm not going into that without a premade party are you crazy?
-
1 RespuestaJust limits accessibility, players will simply avoid it completely.. which sorry but as a designer thats a huge fail. Eventually a team of 3 or 4 will beat it. So yeah.. its just dumb. They could have easily locked entry at 750 and added a vote to kick or similar griefing system. Ppl get kicked all the time from LFG teams so dont tell me a vote to kick doesn't work or is an worse.

Editado por Kalcypher: 6/22/2019 12:21:18 AMDo you really want some random player messing up mechanics causing everyone to restart the Menagerie? Because that’s what you will get. There will always be new players trying to learn the mechanics of the menagerie.

2 RespuestasSo I take it heroic uses token revives?
-
Let’s be real here, considering how often regular people struggle with normal Meangire, I think this is warranted
-
I think heroic menagerie is going to be too much for a matcmade team to handle, and with actual stakes being present I understand the decision. I’ve known since they announced season of opulence, but we’ll see how it pays off.

But muh clan says it cant be done with matchmaking. What about muh clan? If we add matchmaking then I cant be better than casuals cause I'm in muh clan.
-
It would be a waste of time with randoms.
-
Have you see the requirements for the Heroic version? If you have and you still want matchmaking I question your sanity.
-
5 RespuestasI’m glad there is no match making for the heroic mode. I don’t have put up with silly blueberries just standing back in the corner afk etc.
-
2 RespuestasPersonally I don’t want matchmaking on 750 recommended (up to 770 enemy power) with permanent extinguish and chance to fail menagerie.
-
To tell you the truth they should add both options match making and private will be a lot more easier. Just saying 🧐
-
Because of this, I’ll probably honestly only end up doing it once. After it’s been out for a bit and I know the recipes for whatever else might be available from it. Like with the Nightfall, it’s seems unnecessarily limiting to exclude it from matchmaking. Limiting accessibility to activities when there’s no real reason to is a bad design decision. Which, unless it’s like raids with the mechanics and timers and auto wipe mechanics, there is no good reason to exclude it from matchmaking. What I don’t understand is why they don’t up the power requirement for matchmaking in harder activities. Same could be said for the Nightfall.
-
No match making because of the mechanic that sends you back to orbit on team wipe, not getting 100%. Too many trolls and sand baggers to allow match making.

4 RespuestasI think I'm ok with no matchmaking for now. Encounters at 770. It really depends on the modifiers. If it's something like blackout and brawl I wont be playing it anyway. Idk what the rewards are going to be besides curated rolls and the swords. Not really worth it for me.
