The next smash characters are lame
Dragon Quest protagonist and Banjo-Kazooie
...Why?
Do they even have games on Nintendo consoles? They seem so obscure and I just don't like them. I feel like I just wasted 25 dollars on a bunch of characters I don't give a crap about. Joker included. I didn't even know he existed until he was announced for Smash. I have never touched a Persona game in my life and I probably never will. He isn't even a good character without his Stand.
Why can't they add someone cool like Doomguy or Sora or something. They at least have games on Nintendo consoles. Hell some Kingdom Hearts games were even Nintendo exclusive until they were remastered. I'd even take more newcomers from games that already have representation. A lot of pokemon would fit well like Gallade and Blaziken. I'd also like some non-swordsman Fire Emblem characters like Hector or Ephraim.
These new characters are just so...lame
I kinda regret buying the pass now...

Banjo and Kazooie scored high in the polls, at least in America.

Banjo-Kazooie is a childhood favorite so if he's fun to play I'll probably main him.

I'm fine with the new characters, Banjo has been asked for for some time now and I'm a little impressed that Dragon Quest is finally getting recognition in the game. Hopfully both will be completely unique in their move sets because I'm tired of seeing clone fighters. So many missed opportunities for variety because of clones.

1 RespuestaI wasn’t really excited for them either. I never even heard of dragon quest until earlier this year. I couldn’t get over the Trunks knockoff. I groaned so much at that reveal trailer I didn’t care much for banjo either. Would’ve been so much better if we got crash bandicoot instead

A lot of people wanted Banjo, so good for them, but I don't feel the hype. One of the alts for The Hero is Goku so finally we have Goku in smash, hehe. Otherwise, eh, just Link + Robin. Funnily I've been meaning to look into Persona for the longest time but Smash was a good incentiviser, mighta forgotten about it otherwise. Glad I did play it cause I found my new favorite game from it, makes everything about his DLC way cooler, from the reveal, even to how you walk on Mementos, the details are great!

[quote]They seem so obscure[/quote] Dragon Quest is the most influential RPG of all time. So if you're okay with Cloud being in Smash, Dragon Quest should be getting worshipped right now. And Banjo Kazooie is, I believe, the first collectathon platformer. Not as influential as other video game series, true, but hugely popular and one of the most requested fighters for Ultimate.

1 RespuestaThese characters are nice, but not DLC hype worthy. They should be free characters in my opinion. Not much hype behind them. The banjo kazooie trailer was kinda funny, but other than that they're not characters worth my money.

Think about it; if Doomguy was in Smash, he'd have to get most of his moveset un-gorified to fit the age rating of the game, which would lose his identity. In terms of Sora, I'm giving him a 50% chance. A few KH games are on Nintendo consoles (Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, Recoded, Dream Drop Distance), But Square Enix can be clingy with their properties, so it'll be quite hard to get another Square Enix character into Smash. Although I do feel like Byleth (The player character for the upcoming Three Houses) has a high chance of joining the roster. Robin got into Smash after Awakening launched (although he took the longest at 2 years), Corrin got in after Fates launched (at 6 months), so now I'm betting Byleth might make the cut too. I think there's more than enough Pokémon in Smash, but I do feel that there's a chance of ANOTHER Pokémon being confirmed as a fighter, most likely one from the upcoming Sword and Shield. First, I'm going to say I actually agree with you, except for a few points. 1st I agree with Joker and DQ Protag. I love the DQ games, and Persona 5 is a great game, but I don't think we need both. Second,gonna have to disagree with you on Banjo, he's an icon of the N64. Next, on to Doomguy. I don't think he really fits the series, especially after new Doom. Sora? Maybe, but that's dependant on if he's a Squenix character, or a Disney one. More Pokemon? Sure. More Fire Emblem? Please, just no more swords. We have 5 sword users from FE without a gimmick (no Roy and Ike, fire is not enough), 4 of them have similar/same move sets (Marth, Roy, Lucina, and Chrom), and heckie, 3 of them use the same sword! (Marth, Lucina, and Chrom). I still haven't bought the fighters pass though, so who am I to complain.
